When did you first feel pressured to look a certain way and how did it shape your view of beauty?🤔 George Lee, the editor of our online magazine, #ThisCuriousLife and the mother of a 22-year-old daughter, has been reflecting deeply on the pressures young girls face regarding #beauty and #ageing. What concerns her most is not just society's fixation on flawless skin but also the growing fear of ageing, which seems to take root at increasingly younger ages, especially among girls still in their youth. She questions the potential consequences when this fear fosters harmful habits and an unrelenting pursuit of perfection. As a mother and someone who has experienced — and continues to navigate — the complexities of ageing skin, she believes it’s time to shift the conversation. Instead of chasing youth, she advocates celebrating beauty at every stage of life. Read the full article here: https://bit.ly/49ijnNa #AgeingIntelligence

✨𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂✨ This week the UK National Innovation Centre for Ageing were asked by Paul Lancaster to tell the visiting team from Sinnobator UK all about our #AgeingIntelligence. Sarah Nolan talked about #NICA's Aims and Mission, Global Growth and Partnerships, fascinating initiatives like Longevity City and our Voice® Citizen Engagement Network and inviting our guests to add their voices. I highlighted how all sectors should be aware of the massive global longevity market that crosses all sectors including smartphones, online banking, online gaming, online shopping and the lack of technical confidence and skills in an ageing workforce. Importantly we shone a spotlight on those opportunities for global companies to grow in the UK longevity market. Followed by explaining how #NICA is supporting businesses in the North East Region through The North East Combined Authority funded programme Internet of Caring Things® (IoCT™). Apoorva Jain talked all about humanising technology and how crucial it is to design products and services with people and not just for people. The event was topped off with several company presentations. #IoCT supported companies Eric Guo SPARK EPOS, Natalie (Tallie) Bush Circadacare and Neil Herron Grid Smarter Cities joined Geoff Trotter ESG Excel all of whom are shining examples of #IoCTInAction. I learnt something new about IP relating to the Chinese Market from Claire Rutherford at Definition IP Limited | B Corp™. Thank you to Sinnobator's CEO Jia Ren, UK Partner Sen Yang and UK Project Lead WeiTing H., who not only shared strategies to assist UK businesses in expanding into China and exciting news about their upcoming incubator programme but also joined in with the interactive elements of our presentations you are all stars ✨ and we look forward to your next visit. #SinnobatorUK #TechInnovation #GlobalCollaboration #Newcastle #UKChinaPartnership

Did you know that, in the next three years, half of all investors plan to increase their allocation to the Living sector?🏘️ Or that 80% of the homes that will exist in the UK by 2050 have already been built? With populations living longer, we are faced with critical questions: • What if we focused on thriving in place rather than simply ageing in place? • Are more people choosing to build villages instead of individual houses to foster community living? • How can we address the fact that 80% of European homes are not designed for a longer-living population? By 2050, cities will house over two-thirds of the world’s population, including more than two billion people aged 60 and older. While cities will wield significant economic power and access to advanced technologies, they will also face growing challenges to infrastructure, housing, health, and social services. The transition from an #ageing society to a #longevity society is both a challenge and an opportunity for our society and economies. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Senior Housing & Healthcare Association (#SHHA), one of the most forward-thinking organisations observing the living landscape across all life stages, with a particular focus on older adults. Together, we want to become the key players in analysing and influencing smarter solutions for the future of living, whether in private homes or ageing facilities to benefit individuals, communities, and economies alike. Let’s shape the future of living together, join us to learn, collaborate, and design your future by clicking the link below!👇 #AgeingIntelligence
🌟 SHHA Partners with the UK National Innovation Centre for Ageing 🌟 We’re excited to announce a transformative partnership between the Senior Housing and Healthcare Association (SHHA) and the UK’s National Innovation Centre for Ageing (NICA)! Together, we’re shifting the narrative around aging by embracing the opportunities of a longevity society, where innovation in housing and healthcare enhances both the quality and purpose of life at every stage. As 🐨 Nicola Palmarini, Director of NICA, explains: “This is a new frontier—a chance to rethink how we design and deliver communities that meet the needs of a rapidly changing world.” 🗨️ Ron van Bloois, Chair of SHHA, adds: “The impact of senior housing goes beyond just providing accommodation; it’s about building environments that foster social engagement, health, and a better quality of life.” 👉 Join Us! Don’t miss our first collaborative webinar on January 17, 2025: “Investing in Longevity: The Future of Senior Housing” This session will challenge outdated narratives around aging, showcasing how innovative real estate and community development can contribute to a longer, healthier, and more connected life. 🔗 Learn more and register here: https://lnkd.in/dsidiRyE #Longevity #Society #Innovation #SeniorHousing #Healthcare #Wellbeing #SHHA #NICA #FutureOfAging

Congratulations IBEX Innovations for the Innovative MedTech Award. CPI has long supported the innovation ecosystem with Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria. CPI works with multiple innovations, but sometimes it just takes one innovation to make a disproportionate impact. Delayed diagnosis of osteoporosis can cause fractures and hospitalisation, and IBEX solves a key challenge for healthy ageing. Alongside the UK National Innovation Centre for Ageing, CPI is working on the IoCT programme to further support innovations such as IBEX https://lnkd.in/eGNy5-_s

👉 Ageing starts when you stop making plans 👈 Thus, Italians #over65 answered in part of the research conducted with the #OsservatorioNestlé led by Professor #GiuseppeFatati and the #EdelmanLongevityLab. We have the data for #Italy, of course. Still, I believe that behind this answer - so straight and simple in its complexity - lies a fundamental point of progression towards our (each of us) future, regardless of geography, gender, ethnicity, culture or religion. In that ‘plans’ lie the foundations of #healthylongevity. Everything else, in my view, is probably ancillary. UK National Innovation Centre for Ageing Edelman Italia #ageingintelligence
Vecchio a chi?
