Local artist Carl Rowe has created a unique artwork for the walls inside the Willow Therapy Unit. Through a series of art workshops with NCH&C patients, staff, and volunteers, Carl was able to create seven abstract compositions for the corridor space. Titled ‘Gravity’, the work encourages patients to move around the new unit to explore it in full.

The Willow Therapy Unit will increase the number of NHS beds available in Norfolk and Waveney. Offering patients enhanced support to recover and regain independence after a stay in hospital, it will help reduce the demand for beds in local acute hospitals. Focusing on helping patients get stronger and gain independence will reduce the likelihood that they will be admitted to hospital.

Our new Willow Therapy Unit is opening soon in Norwich! With 48 beds, it will provide patients with enhanced support to recover and regain independence after a stay in hospital. We spoke to Unit Lead Luciano and Clinical Lead Physiotherapist Katy, who shared their enthusiasm ahead of the opening. They can’t wait to step into their new workspace for the first time and experience all the incredible features it has to offer. In just a few weeks, the unit will be “buzzing with patients,” and the excitement is already building! Stay tuned for more updates.
