  • Today's meeting was all about Carer Breather. We consulted with forum members, Carer Breather organisations and other partners on what they'd like to see from future Carer Breather Services. Our Carer Engagement Lead, Sharron M Farrell shared some data from the carer organisations on how many carers and their cared for person have been helped, and we heard from the Carer Breather services themselves about how their services have benefitted from this by this vital funding. Our guest speakers were Tom from Watch US Grow , Donna from PlayPeace and Neil from Glenboig Development Trust. It was a great event and will help shape the next round of funding. #Carers #ShortBreaks #Engagement #Participation

  • Engaging with unpaid carers is not just a professional obligation; it is a profound responsibility that impacts the very fabric of our communities. Reflecting on the significance of this engagement, we recognise that unpaid carers are the foundation of our social care system, making an economic contribution of £799m in NL, dedicating their lives to the well-being of their loved ones, often at great personal sacrifice. Unpaid carers possess invaluable insights and experiences that can shape and improve the services and support systems designed to assist them. By actively involving carers in decision-making processes, we ensure that their voices are heard, and their needs are met. This consultation fosters a more responsive and empathic approach to care, one that truly reflects the diverse realities faced by carers. NLCT would 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 to hear from you if you are a carer living in North Lanarkshire, so please take our 2-minute Carer Breather Survey and share with any other carers and carer groups you can think of: surveymonkey.com/r/KMFFWGL To everyone who has already completed the survey, we thank you for your time and support! #NLCT #northlanarkshirecarerstogether #carerbreather #carers #northlanarkshirecarers #carerssurvey #yourvoicematters

  • In North Lanarkshire, we understand the power of collaboration and multi-agency working in delivering the highest quality of care and support to those who need it most. Great energy in the room today for the Locality Planning Group development day for Motherwell Locality.   Health and social care services are complex and multifaceted, and no single organisation or service can address all the needs of all individuals and communities alone. That's why we should remain committed to working together across agencies, disciplines, and sectors to provide seamless and integrated care that truly meets the diverse needs of our residents.   By collaborating with partners in health, council, social care, 3rd sector, housing, and beyond, we can:   ✅ Pool resources and expertise to provide holistic support to individuals and families. ✅ Identify and address gaps in services, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks. ✅ Foster innovation and best practice through shared learning and knowledge exchange, especially by listening to those who use services and their carers. ✅ Empower individuals to access the right care, at the right time, in the right place.   At the heart of our collaborative efforts is a shared commitment to putting the needs of people who use services first. Together, we can break down silos, bridge gaps, and build a stronger, more resilient community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.   #Collaboration #MultiAgencyWorking #HealthAndSocialCare #NorthLanarkshire #CommunitySupport
