With 44 years of experience in the bus industry and senior roles at leading operators such as Arriva, Go-Ahead, and First Bus, Nigel will be responsible for leading and supporting the team of over 800 drivers and the service delivery team to provide a reliable and punctual service to customers. Congratulations to Zohra Rani, our NCT Bus Driver of the Year 2025! Zohra was honoured at our Annual Excellence Awards at Nottingham's Albert Hall. Her dedication to passengers, as shown by her 92% score in mystery traveller assessments, and her commitment to making every journey safe and comfortable, earned her this prestigious title. On her win, Zohra said: “I feel so proud to have won Driver of the Year — it’s a huge achievement for me. I love working for NCT and always try my best to make a positive difference to both my customers and colleagues. Having a great bond with passengers is really important to me, and I always want to brighten their day." Well done, Zohra!

Congratulations to our Managing Director, David Astill, who has been appointed as the new Chair of The Association of Local Bus Company Managers (ALBUM). In a unanimous decision, the Directors approved the appointment of David at its most recent Board Meeting. The ALBUM Board of Directors continues to provide strong leadership for the organisation, ensuring that the interests of small and medium-sized bus operators and the vital industry suppliers (Associate Members) are represented effectively. These supplier members are crucial in supporting the sector by providing innovative products, services, and solutions that help operators deliver high-quality transport services.

Despite the cold temperatures on Saturday, it was great to meet and chat with so many residents of West Bridgford as we celebrated the Bridgford Bus Upgrade! Known for offering an unbeatable and frequent 5-minute Monday to Saturday daytime service between the City Centre, Nottingham Station, Trent Bridge and Central Avenue, these routes form the backbone of West Bridgford’s public transport, connecting key destinations. They also form part of the City Loop — a vital service that links passengers to locations across Nottingham City Centre, including Broad Marsh, the Railway Station, and the new Central Library. The first eight Yutong Bus & Coach electric single decks from our next batch of twenty four entered service today! They’re already proving popular on our Bridgford Bus Green Line services to West Bridgford, and we’re hosting a launch event in the main shopping area during the morning of Saturday 8th February. Thanks to the team at Pelican Engineering Company (Sales) Limited for finishing them off to NCT’s high quality specification at their Yorkshire facilities and for our partners at Nottingham City Council who supported the project through their successful Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom ZEBRA bid.
