We Are Innovators. We Are Thinkers. We Are Creatives.
About us
We are one of the world’s leading art and design schools and we have been influencing, inspiring and innovating for over 175 years. We are guided by our past, focused on our future, and proud to be shaping what comes next. Located right in the heart of one of the UK’s most exciting cities, we are surrounded by – and contribute to – an originality, energy and imagination that makes Nottingham a very special place to live, work and create. From nurturing talent to daring research and collaborations that are shaking up the industry, we are breaking convention, and challenging the very ideas of what is possible for an art and design school. Inspired by a love for our craft, we are committed to pushing its boundaries into new territories. We are all contemporaries, collaborators and change-makers. And together we can turn what we love into how we live. We are the Nottingham School of Art & Design at Nottingham Trent University and we are what we create.

"My work is driven by a desire to contribute to the curating of spaces for the growing representation of queer and feminist narratives. I work primarily with alternative photographic processes and often incorporate ceramics which brings a tactile and tangible nature to my work. This invokes a sense of intimacy and tenderness to my subject matter. I construct narratives through the employment of styling to explore identity and sexuality within the intersection of fine art and fashion photography." - Rita Minima Fitton (IG:@ritaminima, BA (Hons) Photography graduate. "My name is Harri Eccleston, I am an Illustrator and Designer from the Wirral. My practice focuses on children’s picture books, with exploration into feminist retellings of history and mythology. I am particularly interested in giving voices to unheard women of the past. This course gave me the opportunity to develop my practice through exploration of new mediums such as gouache and collage, neither of which I had used before." - Harri Eccleston, MA Illustration Follow Harri on Instagram: @harriillustrates Interested in studying one of our creative MA courses?
