    Last week, we attended #Q2B24SV by QC Ware Corp. and we are happy to share our latest blog entry, where we share our key takeaways from it 👉 https://lnkd.in/ehJHrwRv For a sneak peek… 💬 Key Highlights: Our CEO, Carmen Palacios-Berraquero, delivered a compelling plenary talk on distributed quantum computing, emphasising the need to scale for commercial utility and shift from a 'one OR the other' mindset regarding 'Monolithic / Distributed.' Non-Executive Director Robert Sutor shared invaluable insights on the current state and future recommendations for the quantum sector. The Nu Quantum team gained invaluable insights from the talks and sessions including ones from quantum trailblazers like John Preskill and Scott Aaronson, and had engaging conversations with attendees at our exhibition stand. Some of our takeaways are: 1️⃣ We are now in the era of logical qubits!  2️⃣ Google’s Willow chip demonstrated error correction below threshold with one logical qubit, while Quantinuum showcased a 50-qubit state exceeding 98% fidelity. 3️⃣ Modularity and networking are essential drivers for scaling quantum systems, though consensus on implementation methods remains varied. 4️⃣ Collaborative efforts highlight the need for cooperation in advancing quantum technologies across various applications. 🌍 Thanks again to the British Consulate-General in San Francisco and all the other UK organisations in the delegation which included UKQuantumOxford Quantum Circuits (OQC), Quantum Software Lab/ The University of Edinburgh, Qruise, and Harwell Quantum/ National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC)! 🙏 For a deeper dive into our experiences and insights from Q2B, check out our full blog post here: https://lnkd.in/ehJHrwRv Stay Entangled!

    Kicking off our new blog series! ✨ 📢 Last week, Nu Quantum’s Dr. Alex Moylett and Alberto Santamato attended the Optica Quantum Industry Summit in Bristol, a hub for quantum innovation. Alex tells us their three standout insights: 1️⃣ We are climbing the mountain to quantum utility Sir Peter Knight aptly described the journey to quantum utility as climbing a mountain. The progress shown by companies like Oxford Ionics and PsiQuantum was inspiring, highlighting the need for innovation across hardware, error-correction, algorithms, and scaling efforts. The climb is steep, but the potential impact at the summit is transformational. 2️⃣ Quantum networks are the key to scaling Reaching useful quantum computing will require quantum networks that can connect multiple processors into a distributed system. It was exciting to hear various companies align with Nu Quantum’s vision on this – even earning shoutouts during the talks! 3️⃣ Collaboration is essential “What can you do for others? And what can others do for you?” This spirit of collaboration defined the summit. From partnerships with integrated circuit foundries to software innovators, the quantum industry understands that working together is vital to overcoming challenges. Special thanks to Optica, Jose Pozo, Jon Pugh and the Bristol quantum ecosystem for an inspiring event. Read the whole blog entry here: https://lnkd.in/egxPFHcG Next event in line for us is Q2B Silicon Valley 2024 #Q2B24SV, Dec 10-12. Come find us at the UK delegation pavilion and check Carmen Palacios-Berraquero’s plenary talk where she will share more about Nu Quantum’s vision for distributed quantum computing.  #StayEntangled! 🧵✨

    Legal & IP at Nu Quantum, specialising in complex patent & IP licensing transactions and patent litigation matters;

    Proud to have been a very small part of this brilliant initiative. It’s hard for startups to engage with apparently lofty principles, but I believe it starts with rigorous requirements, specifications, development milestones and a rigorous approach to risk management within the company. Kudos to the Nu Quantum team who lives these values every day. Carmen Palacios-Berraquero, Claire Le Gall, Ed Wood, Daniel Garden and Amii Shepperson. And delighted to hand over to the amazing Simone Eizagirre Barker for the hard part 🫢☺️.

    🎉Today, techUK are pleased to share the RQIF principles, a shared commitment to the responsible development and use of quantum technologies, developed with input from our members.   🧠The Responsible Quantum Industry Forum (RQIF) is an industry consortium, led by the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) with techUK and UKQuantum as industry co-chairs. The objective of the Forum is to enable organisations in the responsible development and use of quantum technologies, building on shared principles, by providing a venue for sharing best practices and lessons learnt in operationalising responsible quantum.    📝To develop the RQIF principles, we brought together our members, representing key organisations from the UK quantum technology industry, as well as carrying out an online consultation exercise to ensure all views were represented. ➡️Click here to view the principles via the link: https://lnkd.in/e6FgRkG8 Sue Daley | Laura Foster | Tess Buckley | Natasha Oughton | Claudia Perry | Jonathan Legh-Smith   🗣️Laura Foster, Associate Director Tech and Innovation, at techUK said: “Given the transformative opportunities and potential impact of quantum technologies to our economy and society, it’s important to ensure these technologies are developed responsibly. As such, we are pleased to welcome the Responsible Quantum Industry Forum principles. These guidelines reflect a shared commitment to responsible quantum practices. With transparency, explainability, and accountability at their core, these principles provide a strong foundation for businesses shaping the UK's quantum future. We're proud to have led this effort with our members.”    🗣️Science Minister Lord Vallance said: “The Responsible Quantum Industry Forum is committed to ensuring that the UK quantum sector is ethical, sustainable and accountable. These principles are vital to ensure that quantum technologies are developed with respect for privacy, security, and societal good - helping to grow public trust in quantum, and marking the UK out as a global leader in responsible innovation.” _______________________________ 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗞 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🚀 The opportunities for innovation are endless. Founder and CEO at Nu Quantum. Stay Entangled!

    Thank you Founders Forum Group for including me in the 100 Women Founders to Watch list 🌟 A few quotes from the report ~ "Women control over $30 trillion in consumer spending – yet women-led startups raise just 10% of VC funding in Europe, and 2% in the U.S" 🎯 "While 15% of tech startup founders are women, these founders consistently deliver strong returns, generating 78 cents in revenue per dollar raised" --> It would be interesting to find out the data for the demographic of founders in Quantum 👀 My rough feeling - in the Quantum industry there are, probably, ~200 credible startups, and, that I know, <<15 of them were founded by women / nb folk / femmes, and very few (shout out please if any other than Nu Quantum !) by members of the queer community 🌈 A bit more about the FF report... "The goal of our 100 Women Founders to Watch list is to shine a light on 100 of the most exceptional women founders blazing a trail in the tech industry across three of our key markets – the UK & Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia. Our 100 Women Founders to Watch are launching disruptive new businesses, driving climate action, accelerating AI, innovating across 20+ industries from femtech to space tech, and they’ve raised more than $1.1b between them. In our report, published in partnership with Institut auf dem Rosenberg, we also explore how to increase representation and move more investor money to women founders, via exclusive interviews with top women entrepreneurs and leading VC investors."
