About us
The Nystagmus Network is a registered charity in England and Wales supporting people with nystagmus, raising awareness of the condition and funding research. Nystagmus is a form of visual impairment, characterised by involuntary movements of the eyes. Focus and depth perception are compromised which means that support is required with education, employment and, often, mobility and independent living. At least 1 in 1,000 babies are born each year with nystagmus. Many more may contract acquired nystagmus later in life.

Changing Attitudes, Changing Lives Nystagmus Network trustee, Harshal Kubavat and staff team lead, Sue Ricketts were delighted to attend the launch yesterday of the 'Changing Attitudes, Changing Lives' report by the APPG for eye health and visual impairment. It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with our former intern, George Plumridge, who contributed to the report in his first few weeks with us and is now flourishing in his new role with Thomas Pocklington Trust. The report urges the UK government and employers to work to ensure many more blind and partially sighted people are employed in fulfilling roles and careers.
