Have a quick read on how we partnered with AGTEK Development Company, Inc. to streamline project management with a unified data environment.👇 By integrating 3D machine control across multiple platforms, we’ve managed to reduce inefficiencies in model design and communication, cutting time to implement changes from a week to one day. This shift enhances collaboration among engineers, surveyors, and operators, ensuring smoother project delivery and happier clients. The future of construction lies in embracing interoperable solutions that unite mixed-fleet operations, addressing skills shortages and improving project outcomes. We had a fantastic Careers Made In Chesterfield session at Whittington Green School yesterday. Students were given a range of group tasks related to town flooding, from the perspective of three job sectors (Health, Science and Care - Construction and the Built Environment - Engineering and Manufacturing). Students learnt about many key job roles, and demonstrated their employability skills to a room full of employers. Thanks to everyone who supported: Faye Thompson and Cathy Scholes, Environment Agency; Tim Pearson, Met Office; Matthew Malkin, Construction Skills Hub; Nathan Robertson and Samara Lemon, University of Derby; David Beet, United Cast Bar Group; Rachael Hill, Fortem Solutions; Sue Woollett, Stepnell; Andrew Foster, O'Brien Contractors Ltd. It's Men's Health Awareness Month, a time for raising awareness for physical and mental health in the UK, something we are also passionate about. Our industry is facing a mental health crisis, with construction workers 3.7 times more likely to commit suicide than any other industry. Suicide is the biggest cause of death for men under 35. When it comes to our mental health, we need to look out for each other. At O'Brien Contractors, we want to create a environment for everyone to feel comfortable talking about their mental health. We know how important opening up is, but also how difficult that first step can be. If you, or anyone you know is struggling, here are a few support systems that can help: 🧠 matesinmind.org 👷♂️ thelighthouseclub.org 🫂 samaritans.org 🗣️ mind.org.uk It's okay not to be okay. #MentalHealth #Construction #MentalHealthAwareness

Navigating the complexity of the #S278Agreement of the Highways Act 1980 can be time-consuming and confusing. Want to hear what an expert has to say? Check out Lance GUDGER’s latest blog, where he explores key considerations regarding S278 Agreements!👇 #Construction #Civil #Midlands
There's a clear disconnection when it comes to S278 Agreements and it’s inclusion within a main contractor’s scope of work, despite not being privy to agreements in advance. So, how can we begin to navigate contract agreements to ensure the proper execution of an #S278Agreement, whilst also recognising the different approaches local authorities might have? Read my latest blog where I discuss how main contractors and clients can better navigate S278 Agreements and Stage 3 Road Safety Audit to improve project delivery. 👇 If you have an earthworks, construction, civil engineering or sports pitch scheme and want some advice on how O'Brien Contractors Ltd can assist, please do not hesitate to send me a private message or leave a comment below. #RSAudit #CivilEngineering #Construction #Midlands

Celebrating a Key Achievement on the Chesterfield Canal Trust Bridge We’re excited to share the timelapse of the bridge installation, a major milestone for everyone involved in this distinctive project. This new bridge is a critical element in the restoration of the Chesterfield Canal for the The Chesterfield Canal Trust Ltd — the historic waterway that has been a significant part of the local landscape for centuries. The bridge will enhance connectivity for both pedestrians and cyclists, opening up new routes along the canal and making the area more accessible for the local community and visitors alike. With the enabling works package now nearing completion, we've laid the groundwork for the final phase of this ambitious project. Up next is the delivery of clay — scheduled for early next year — which will signal the start of the main construction works. This marks the culmination of months of dedication, planning, and effort by the entire team. Special thanks to Stag Communications for their outstanding photography support, capturing every pivotal moment of this journey. Showcasing this project has been a fantastic experience, generating interest and excitement around the restoration of such a significant historical asset. We're proud to be part of the revival of this treasured canal, ensuring it continues to be a source of enjoyment and heritage for future generations. We eagerly anticipate what lies ahead as we move into the main works phase. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this vision a reality. Here’s to the next chapter as we move into 2024! 🚧🚜 #ChesterfieldCanalTrust #BridgeInstallation #Construction #BeyondConsult #ProjectMilestone #HeritageRestoration #CanalRevival #CommunityConnectivity #EngineeringExcellence #MainWorks #PhotographySupport O'Brien Contractors Ltd
