“When I was 19, I visited the Snow Town in Heilongjiang province, China, where temperature was running as low as -25 degree celsius. After catching the sunrise on Yangcaoshan Hill one morning, I rode down the hill on a snowmobile and before I knew it, I suffered from what turned out to be second-to-third degree frostbite on both my hands. With the nearest hospital being 280km away in Harbin city, I was anxious. If not for my friend who translated for me and the locals who helped me overcome the frostbite with traditional methods, I would have lost my hands.”- Chase, Co-Founder of Occam Health Seeking urgent medical care abroad can be difficult and stressful, especially if you don’t speak the native language.
