Network Rail Southern Region now benefits from enhanced safety and reliability following the recent successful testing and commissioning of four Negative Short-Circuiting Devices (NSCD) by our E&P team working within the Southern Renewals Enterprise partnership—all completed over a single weekend! Every location was handed back on time and without accident or incident. This milestone marks 11 out of 17 sites completed within the SID 24 year 1 programme. Four locations completed in a recent weekend possession: 📍 Pluckley Substation 📍 Swifts Green Substation 📍 Polhill Substation 📍 Codmore Hill Substation. NSCDs play a crucial role in keeping track workers safe by preventing accidental re-energisation of the conductor rail. Exciting news! 📢 We have been appointed as a primary supplier on the NEPO Framework Agreement on three North-East Lots. Lot 4 covering projects between £3m - £5m, Lot 5 for projects £5m - £10m and Lot 6 for projects of £10m and above. The NEPO procurement solution is governed and used by the 12 North East local authorities. Octavius Infrastructure Managing Director Gavin Pritchard commented “We are delighted to have this opportunity to work collaboratively with the NEPO procurement team and their local authority customers. Over the weekend, our Electrification & Plant (E&P) team, working within Network Rail 's Southern Renewals Enterprise successfully commissioned four DC breakers at Oaken Lane—marking the first completed site within our CP7 DC switchgear upgrade package! The new DC will help to improve network reliability, and support a safer, more efficient railway system. A huge thank you to everyone involved including our supply chain partners.
