You may have read in the latest OCS newsletter about the 50 year reunion which was recently held, and there is a write up in the local paper too (link below). This was a fantastic occasion and it was great to see over 50 ex-pupils meet up again after so many years! https://lnkd.in/ewwZA5r6

THE OLD COLCESTRIAN SOCIETY ANNUAL DINNER 2024 https://lnkd.in/ef8t8NG2 The Society is delighted to announce that the Annual Dinner is to be held in the School Hall, by kind permission of the Headmaster, on Saturday 14th December. A champagne reception will be held from 6.30pm, with the Dinner to start at 7pm sharp. The Annual Dinner is a black tie event. Tickets are priced at £55 for Society members and £65 for guests. For up to 25 CRGS leavers from the past three years, there are Headmaster’s Initiative tickets available at £30 each. Along with a donation from an OC Member we are looking to fund these spaces using sponsorship from guests attending. If you are able to purchase a “Sponsorship Dinner” at £100 you will be helping reduce the cost for our younger members.

One for the musicians from Richard Harrison; CRGS is one of only a handful of schools in North Essex that still run A-Level Music as an option in our Sixth Form and want to continue to do so in future. Whilst we don't expect all A-Level musicians to take the subject forward to undergraduate level, we believe that having an A-Level in Music gives them valuable skills and experiences to take forwards. I would love to create an alumni board for our Music department with a focus on students who took the A Level in Music. You don't have to have taken the subject through to degree level. This would mean that students can see that a Music A Level is a stepping stone along the way to a variety of pathways. If this is you, please complete this form https://lnkd.in/e5Pq8Wgy by Friday 18th October!

Each year, the School publishes The Colcestrian magazine full of news articles about student successes and activities in all departments and contributions from alumni. It is a review of the year and a copy of The Colcestrian is distributed to every family with children currently at CRGS and to every member of the OCS. It is also uploaded to the CRGS website. In total, this is a distribution in excess of 2,000 printed copies, with a far wider readership of friends, family and colleagues. The production of the magazine is kindly sponsored by the Old Colcestrian Society with additional support from advertisers. We are compiling the 2024 edition, that will be distributed at the end of the autumn term 2024, and we are looking for any businesses that would like to advertise in the magazine. There are options available priced from £75 upwards. If you would like to advertise your business in The Colcestrian 2024 then please get in touch with Mr H Tompkins, Communications Officer at htompkins@crgs.co.uk
