We would love to introduce you to Floris Kouijzer. Floris is the GM at One Hundred Shoreditch. Earlier this summer, we kicked off our collaboration with global hotels, Lore Group in East London helping bring a new lease of life to local community centre in the Samuda Estate on the Isle of Dogs. Led by Floris, Jacqueline Kneebone and their, over 40 people scrubbed and painted, polished and perfected a space for the residents there to come together. Since then, they have been welcoming these VIP's to the roof terrace this summer, their late lounges and even stays over night. We'll leave it to the brilliant, Floris to tell you more x (Our next one is coming this month with Sea Containers London and we will be launching in Amsterdam with the teams Pulitzer Amsterdam and Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam very soon so keep your eyes peeled).

This weekend, One Hundred Shoreditch partnered with change-makers EARNT on a project to makeover the Samuda Community Centre, Club 55 - aka Island Network Hub - in East London. The centre is at the heart of the local community, an anchor for the hundreds of locals who utilise it weekly. Due to restricted budgets, the centre has fallen into a state of disrepair. With the help of our friends at EARNT, we engaged volunteers to join the One Hundred Shoreditch team over the weekend, to make repairs, clean and decorate. The start of our relationship with EARNT and the Samuda Community Centre - a chance to give back to our local community, and bring our team together with EARNT volunteers to make a tangible difference. We are incredibly grateful to our One Hundred Shoreditch team, the EARNT team and all our volunteers, for giving your time this weekend. Big up Chef Adam and team for the tasty grub, to Zaneta and Housekeeping for sorting cleaning products and to Claudia, our Rooms Operations Manager, for handling logistics. Lastly, a huge thank you to Jacqueline, our amazing Regional Director for Environment, Social, Governance, for making this partnership possible! On World Water Day, we’re proud to announce that we have joined forces with Made Blue Foundation, a charity on a mission to provide everyone with access to clean drinking water. . This partnership means that when you stay at One Hundred Shoreditch, or any other Lore Group hotel, you can sleep (and shower) easier knowing that you're helping provide water where it’s most needed, from Asia and Africa to the Americas. . Our partnership funds 100 litres of clean, fresh water for every room night sold across our group. Guests are given this ‘gift’ to pay forward — an amount funded, in its entirety, by us. Every guest has the power to decide where, and whom, the total amount made possible by their stay will support: each occupied night provides one full day of clean water for a household in an area of water scarcity. . As part of our partnership, we are working with the Made Blue team to educate our teams, and guests, on simple ways to be more conscious of their water consumption.
