Today we have been on the south coast. Saved the customer 20k+ by repairing their "unrepairable" CMM controller instead of a retrofit. Customer happy and engineer due home for 2pm. Win-win! When we say we refurbish CMM's, we mean it. This machine is having a full repipe, all bearings removed and cleaned, new scales and reader heads, replacement cable chains and new conduits. Once we are done with it, it will be like new. Also, if anyone knows who designed this machine with the cable ties here - we would like a word 😂

Let's start the week with completely remapping a Hexagon Global CMM, using the XL80 from Renishaw UK & Ireland and Wyler levels. Did you know, we can completely remap most brands of CMMs? We also lend our expertise to many 3rd party calibration companies, helping keep their customers machines running as smoothly and accurately as possible.

Busy Sunday! We are expanding into the unit next door and in prep for that and 3 more machines arriving tomorrow - it's a case of musical CMM's to get everything into position. Our retrofit/refurbishment department is fully air conditioned, so any error map creation is done in the correct environment (just like how it's done with the oems - unlike a lot of 3rd parties). The expansion will improve our electronics lab and the amount of spares we can keep in stock - ready for our online spare parts store!

Only clean your cmm scales when there is or you suspect an issue. Preferably, just leave them alone completely unless instructed otherwise. Daily cleaning for no reason means you eventually wear away the grating and the machine will no longer work!
