Building a business for good from scratch is one of the toughest things I’ve ever done. I set up my second business LOCAL LIFE in 2020 and I did it amidst competition, covid and without investment. I knew that 'local' was coming back into fashion at some point, but with the UK’s ongoing addiction to online shopping, enhancements in e-commerce and the busy lives of pretty much everyone, getting people to realise that it ‘needs’ to come back into fashion has been an uphill battle! And so now, after a lot of hard work from my whole team, I am beyond excited to share that we’ll soon be bringing a much-loved regional partner into the Local Life family! With this onboarding, our #supportlocal and #shoplocal campaigns reach will skyrocket meaning thousands more small and brick-and-mortar businesses will now benefit from Local Life. I look back over the last 4 years and every day I find myself feeling incredibly grateful to 2020 me for finally bringing this business to life after its first inception all the way back in 2008. And after the mountains I’ve had to climb since then, I still strongly believe that doing something you love is a blessing, but it’s a blessing you create for yourself. For me it’s been rewarding to becomes a catalyst for others to succeed in their own business, particularly when it’s working towards a sustainable future that benefits everyone! So stay tuned for updates as my business continue to grow and make a difference.
