Some of our Gloucestershire colleagues got dressed up last week to attend the Sue Ryder Winter ball, fundraising for their invaluable end-of-life and grief support services. Our local CSR teams purchased two tables on behalf of Ontic and donated a two-night stay for two at the Burleigh Court Hotel (with wine tasting!) to the auction which helped to raise a further £1,200. It was great to be able to offer our hard-working colleagues the chance to attend such a fun evening, while also contributing to an organization doing such important work in the community. #Fundraising #CorporateSocialResponsibility #CSR #CompaniesForGood #Community

Last week, we organized various lunches for our Veterans and Reservists at our sites in the UK and the US in recognition of Veterans and Remembrance Day. We are incredibly grateful for the many members of Team Ontic who have served so being able to show our appreciation in this way was an honor. We’re feeling very proud of the Cheltenham North Ladies Rugby Team for being one of England Rugby’s Teams of the Month in October! 🏉 Not only have we sponsored the team with things like new kit and equipment, but our very own Molly McEvoy plays for them (as Hooker) and Dave Payne is the Head Coach so this accolade is particularly close to home. Speaking about the prestigious recognition, Dave said: “I'm incredibly proud of our girls to have been selected for this national title, and even more thankful to see the Ontic sponsor front and centre on our new kit. “We formed during COVID and our team is made up of players who were not only new to rugby, but new to competitive team sport in general. We spent two years in the Inner Warrior league, and this will be our second season playing in National Challenge 3. We have over 40 players registered and are unbeaten this season. It’s a huge credit to the effort and determination of all the players and coaches and this achievement will hopefully put out team on the map, getting more women and girls playing rugby in the near future.” Seeing our local community thrive with things like this is exactly why we are so proud to support CSR initiatives and local projects. We had a great time at the Vance-Granville Community College careers fair in North Carolina last week. It was great to speak to the students, answer their questions, and tell them about all the exciting career opportunities we’ve got at Ontic! 🛩 Helping out on the stand were two of our Creedmoor senior managers; Alistair Fallon who heads up our Twin Commander business and Luke White who leads on our Spares operations in North Carolina. Both starting on our early careers programs, they have great insight into the different parts of our business and the opportunities available at Ontic. It was great to have them available to answer the students’ questions and speak about why they love working in aerospace (and Ontic!). Our Creedmoor colleagues recently raised a fantastic $2,455 for Light The Night, an annual charity walk to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS is an organization bringing hope to communities across North America every day. Through their research work into leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, as well as supporting people and families batting cancer, they are helping to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Darryl McElhannon, who organized our Light The Night walking team this year, thanked everyone for their efforts, saying: " Light The Night is always an uplifting and meaningful event to participate in as cancer affects nearly all of us in some way. A big thank you to the walking team for coming together to fundraise, and our colleagues who donated for putting their support behind the fantastic work Light The Night do. I wanted to give a special shout out to Rufus Simmons who has previously been heavily involved in organizing our Light The Night walks – he fundraised a fantastic amount this year and has done so much to support the fantastic work that is done by LLS." Our UK apprentices had some fun during their half term last week! Organized by our L&D team, the apprentices went head-to-head in a series of It's A Knockout-style activities that went from silly to hilarious very quickly.
