📍 Location: Leicester 👓 Position: Clinic Manager 💼 Salary: Competitive + bonus As a key member of the team, you will drive performance and oversee the daily operational efficiency of the practice. Your role will include developing your team, promoting the benefits of laser surgery to patients, and ensuring the practice is maintained to the highest standards. With strong management experience, ideally within a high-end retail or optical setting, you'll be passionate about delivering results and supporting your team through performance management. You’ll also play a vital role in recruiting, training, and coaching staff to ensure excellent customer service and patient care. Excellent communication, presentation skills, and a motivation to progress within Optical Express are essential for this role. 📍 Location: Cambridge 👓 Position: Healthcare Assistant 💼 Salary: £24,000 In this role, you will work across Laser Vision Correction and Ophthalmic theatres while providing essential support to the surgery team. Responsibilities include conducting pre-operative tests, assisting with patient consent, and providing post-operative care instructions. You will also prepare and calibrate lasers, manage patient flow, and assist the surgeon during treatments, acting as a scrub assistant for LVC procedures. Additionally, you will support the surgical team in IOL theatre as a Healthcare Assistant, help with instrument decontamination, and manage administrative tasks such as updating patient files and compiling reports. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to understand and convey technical information, and strong organisational abilities. 📍 Location: Dartford 👓 Position: Optometrist 💼 Salary: Up to £65,000 At Optical Express, your role will be dynamic and varied, involving pre- and post-operative consultations for refractive and cataract surgery patients, providing clinical support to ophthalmologists, and being part of our multi-disciplinary YAG capsulotomy service. You will also conduct essential and advanced eye examinations for our patients. We offer a market-leading salary of up to £65,000, enhanced through our Performance Pay scheme, along with 33 days annual leave (increasing with service), private healthcare, pension scheme, paid professional fees, indemnity coverage, and more. Additional benefits include Independent Prescribing Sponsorship, access to Optical Express CET courses, and generous discounts on services and treatments for you and your family. We were lucky to host optoversity challenge at Optical Express in Bristol. I was great to see the future talent from Cardiff University, Plymouth University and University West England. Thanks to Out of the Box optics from organising it (Gajan and Hamza). It was an amazing day. I was lucky to be teaching students the theory of YAG capsulotomy and letting them get hands on. I was amazed at how quick they all picked this up looking forward to seeing his talented young clinician develop and contribute to the ever changing profession. Congratulations to Sophie Parkinson from University Plymouth for winning the individual Optoversity challenge 2025 and University West England for boring the overall best team. Thanks to Elin Johnson for the wonderful Welsh cakes she baked us. It was great to see Hamza, Karen, Alison and Naveet from Thea all supporting this event.
