We were lucky to host optoversity challenge at Optical Express in Bristol. I was great to see the future talent from Cardiff University, Plymouth University and University West England. Thanks to Out of the Box optics from organising it (Gajan and Hamza). It was an amazing day. I was lucky to be teaching students the theory of YAG capsulotomy and letting them get hands on. I was amazed at how quick they all picked this up looking forward to seeing his talented young clinician develop and contribute to the ever changing profession. Congratulations to Sophie Parkinson from University Plymouth for winning the individual Optoversity challenge 2025 and University West England for boring the overall best team. Thanks to Elin Johnson for the wonderful Welsh cakes she baked us. It was great to see Hamza, Karen, Alison and Naveet from Thea all supporting this event. Thank you to the sponsors for their generous prizes and thank you to Optical Express Bristol for hosting this amazing event. I cannot wait for next year. Gajan Singh Seehra, Hamza Mussa, Navneet Gupta, Karen and Alison were absolutely amazing and I learned a little today.
