Leading the way in high-quality, low-carbon glass partitions

About us

Optima is a global leader of glass partitioning systems and solutions. We manufacture in the UK and Malaysia with over 30 years’ experience in the glass partitioning industry. We pride ourselves on offering exceptional service and beautifully designed partitions and doors which exude quality. Our services range from design through to installation including specification advice with an emphasis on our acoustic expertise. We continually look at the factors that distinguish us as a leader in the development of environmental and sustainable materials. As a UK manufacturer, we endeavour to minimise our impact on the environment and have introduced Hydro CIRCAL aluminium across our UK Product range. Hydro CIRCAL is made from 75% post-consumer scrap making it the lowest carbon aluminium available. We are committed to improving our environmental performance as a business and have set out our roadmap to achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2035. We are happy to share our knowledge with architects through our RIBA approved CPD's. Get in touch if you have a project we could help with.

Last week, some charitable volunteers from Optima, led by Andrew Stammers TechIOSH, hosted some 'wiser' guests at the #One2One charity's Christmas dinner near our Radstock factory. On the second Sunday every month, the One-2-One team serves up a seriously good roast dinner and creates space for those who come to meet and chat with others. To help out as much as possible, we also sponsored the event, donating the meat and the costs of food hygiene training for our volunteers. • 📢𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗙𝗙 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 We are delighted to officially announce that Teresa Gorham CMIOSH has joined Optima as our new Divisional Director of Group HSQE. Teresa has spent the last two months working alongside Richard Woollard, who retires in January. We wish Richard a well-deserved retirement after nearly nine years of dedicated service! 👏 By way of an introduction, we thought we’d ask Teresa a few questions to gain some insight into her background and her new position: 💬𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮, 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗮! 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲? Hi LinkedIn! I have worked in the construction and manufacturing industry for over 17 years. In that time, I’ve been lucky enough to be involved with projects such as the London Olympics, Bloomberg London, 1-3 Grosvenor Square, and 100 LPS. Such high-profile projects often required quick thinking as I navigated numerous complicated challenges and situations. My new role with Optima covers the HSQE and wellbeing of our site teams, office and factory staff globally. It's been brilliant to see the scale of Optima and to meet lots of new people throughout my induction. Richard has done an amazing job to date and I’m excited to add to this and bring my own energy to the position.⚡🏗️🏢🏭🧑🤝👩 During my career, I have been fortunate to receive much support and personal development opportunities. Courses such as NEBOSH General, Construction, Fire, Wellbeing, First Aid, and PASMA as well as a bespoke Women in Leadership course and ILM.🎓 💬𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲! 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲? In terms of projects, I was instrumental in driving change within my previous business. I led the introduction of OHSAS 18001, the transition to ISO 45001, and implemented an occupational health programme for all employees.  More personally, I’m particularly proud to advocate for women in construction, especially as a woman in a leadership role. Although things have improved dramatically since I started 17 years ago, women are still significantly underrepresented and don’t always have a voice. 👷♀️🏗️ 💬𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗮. For me, it is all about building relationships internally and externally with all members of our supply chain, leading by example in all matters of HSQE, and promoting the message that H&S shouldn’t be seen as a tick-box exercise. 📋✅🚫

Reflecting their values, the warm, textured, contemporary workspace reinforces the Australian law firm’s authentic and inclusive market positioning. 🎨𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 The strong and cohesive geometric motif throughout the interior defines and harmonises the scheme. The material choices also balance each other visually and texturally. The cool, smooth concrete and glass are offset by the tactile warmth of the oak grid, textural fabrics and wood wool. Finally, the attention to detail and exquisite finish elevate the scheme beyond the everyday. ♻️𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 Both Carr and Russell Kennedy aspired to high sustainability goals with the scheme. We are thrilled to announce that London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE) won the Public Space Scheme at this years FX Magazine awards. Celebrating celebrate both British and International talent, judged by an invited panel of distinguished experts from the industry, including designers, architects, engineers, and clients. Central to our interior concept was the creation of an adaptable and sustainable building fit for King’s and their partners needs now and in the future. Throughout the interior of LIHE the design seeks to create a journey that expresses the ever-changing form and flexibility of the spaces. https://brnw.ch/21wP4pJ We are delighted our interior concept has been recognised and awarded with an FX Award. Many of us are already planning our celebrations with friends and family this festive season - researching recipes for that perfect Christmas dinner. 🦃🍗🧑🏻🎄 Not everyone though. Christmas can be especially challenging for those who have fallen on hard times. This December, ❄️Jack Loriot❄️and a team of Optima volunteers have taken it upon themselves to try to help as many families as possible within High Wycombe. We've chosen to support our local food bank, #OneCanTrust, an amazing local charity helping over 400 people per month. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 🎅🏻 To all Optima staff based at our Head Office, you'll notice the donation area in reception. The posters around the office highlight what you can/can't donate. We will collect all donations on December 12th for delivery to One Can Trust on the 13th of December. Food donations (or money to buy food if you're based elsewhere, please see QR code) are gratefully accepted. Please give generously if you can! Merry Christmas!🎄
