Treatment for #asthma and #COPD exacerbations have not changed in 50 years, but now a study by Kings College London and BRC-supported researchers at the University of Oxford has found that a ‘game-changing’ injection is more effective than the current steroid treatment https://lnkd.in/ezZNiH48 Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Nuffield Department of Medicine King's College London

We have launched a new anonymous reporting platform as an extension of our existing Freedom to Speak Up service. Supporting our #OneTeamOneOUH staff to raise concerns in a way that ensures everyone’s voice is heard is central to our People Plan vision that ‘together we make OUH a great place to work where we all feel we belong’. We know that some colleagues are more likely to speak up if this can be done anonymously. In response to this feedback, the WorkInConfidence anonymous reporting platform is now available for all our staff. Our Chair, Professor Sir Jonathan Montgomery, explains why we are introducing WorkInConfidence ⤵

We recently marked the Nursing Support Workers Day and the Maternity Support Workers Celebration Day. Our Practice Development and Education Team hosted its first Healthcare Support Workers conference to celebrate our HCSW workforce. We were joined by colleagues from the regional NHS England team, and there were talks and presentations by colleagues from different departments, as well as multicultural performances and a long service awards ceremony. Thank you to all our Healthcare Support Workers for all that you do 💙

Hospital clinician? Burnt out feeling you’re not addressing the root causes of people’s acute presentations? 👉hospitals can also support people to address some of the key drivers of long term ill health - we don’t need to leave this work only to severely cut back public health and community teams 👉work together with your communities to address local environmental and lifestyle issues If the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust can offer this support then your trust can too.
