Aims to improve the provision of skills across Oxfordshire, to drive growth and innovation in the local economy.
About us
OxLEP Skills aims to improve the provision of skills across Oxfordshire, ensuring the workforce is equipped with the tools needed to drive growth and innovation in the local economy. Oxfordshire is home to a dynamic and innovative business landscape with world-leading assets in research and development, technology, healthcare and communications. Many of these key industries are changing, however, and the workforce must be equipped with new skills to ensure that local businesses have the human resources they need to successfully navigate this transition and thrive for generations to come. Our Local Industrial Strategy, refreshed for 2023, sets out an ambitious plan to build on Oxfordshire’s strong foundations, driving the county’s ambition to become a top-three global innovation ecosystem by 2040. To achieve this, we will continue to need an adaptable and innovative workforce capable of meeting the present and future needs of the local economy. In line with these aims, we work with educators, employers and training providers to deliver skills initiatives aimed at providing young people and local businesses with the skills that they really benefit from.

As many of you know, we were lucky enough to attend the National Apprenticeship & Skills Awards Final on Wednesday evening. The event was superbly organised and a true celebration of the fantastic organisations and apprentices. Amongst the glitz and glamour, we were awarded the 'Highly Commended SME IT Employer Award'! This is a massive moment for us and is a true testament to all the hard work that has gone into making this a success. Now that the award season is over, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us along the way, from the brilliant Olamalu team to The Open University and OxLEP Skills Hub. We wouldn't be able to run this programme so brilliantly without this support and, we can't wait to nurture the next generation through their web technology journey. If you would like to know more about our apprenticeship programme, please follow the link to our blog below. https://lnkd.in/ehwiVnFb #SkillsAwards2024 #Apprenticeships #Webtechnology

🏆 We’re delighted that the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2025 celebration evening will take place at Blenheim Palace on 22 May 🌟 It’s a very fitting venue, as apprenticeships are highly valued at Blenheim, an employer that has a 10-year plan in place to employ 100 apprentices in all areas across the estate and development partner Pye Homes by 2027. They are well on the way to reaching this goal, as explained by People Apprentice (Learning & Development) at Blenheim & Pye, Tiffany Hickman, who has previously been recognised as a winner at the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards. Last week Blenheim and Pye Homes announced that they have achieved one of the other ten ambitious 10-year goals they set in 2017 - to become a Top 100 UK employer - three years ahead of their target and are ranked 78th in Best Companies' list of the UK's Best Large Companies to Work For 2024. Find out why Blenheim are supporting the awards and why they are excited to be hosting in 2025: https://lnkd.in/eZCYHgiG Thank you to Tiffany, Megan Carter MCIPD, Emma Norridge ACIPD ACMI, Heather Morgan, Ellen Gray, Amy Brown, Lilly King, Tiffany Hickman, Emilia Callaghan, Natalie Cox (Kirk) and Jack Butler for your support! #OAAwards2025 #OAHour #apprenticeships #apprentice #awards #oxfordshire #Blenheim #BlenheimPalace #seaan
