This week our laundry expert Paul Robinson and our Sales Director David Allman met with Victoria Stokes at Oxwash | B Corp™️ a laundry and dry cleaning company that heavily focuses on sustainability. We looked at and discuss their innovative eco-friendly laundry processes and their drive towards a positive change going forward and helping them understand our own drives towards sustainability and how that can work by building a bridge between our two industries. Paul said "It is well known that up to 90% of microplastics in the Oceans come from commercial laundries, but not from the Oxwash laundry as all of their water is filtered several times to remove all of the micro plastics which they then recycle. Their methodology of operation is unlike any other that I have witnessed, I was mightily impressed. Their operation respects the fibres and extends the life of the linen dramatically". 🚀 We've just been awarded and kicked off our NASA Ames Research Center CIF project to bring Oxwash technology to astronauts in deep space in the future. Our hope is that our proprietary low-impact textile cleaning technology can be miniaturised and used to keep astronauts clothing fresh in deep space environments. This is the ultimate test in sustainability and efficiancy where resources such as water and energy are very scarce and every drop counts. Collaborating alongside PI Lynn Rothschild, researchers Debbie G. Senesky, Jessica Snyder, Katya Arquilla and astronauts John Grunsfeld and Julie Payette is an honour and a real A-team. It has been a pleasure for SmOp Cleantech to be part of this pioneering industrial laundry plant, Big Blue I by Oxwash | B Corp™️. Today, we completed our multi-utility package including a new 11kV package substation on site. Last night, Oxwash hosted our very first Healthcare Innovation Dinner at the iconic Quaglino’s in London – from sustainability to AI, and infection control during Covid; nothing was off the table.
