About us
Paisley Heritage was established in 2012 to promote Paisley's significant history and culture. Initially launched as 'Paisley Mysteries', we have evolved into a vibrant global community of over 36,000 members, affectionately known as 'Buddies'. Through shared photographs, videos, stories, and legends, we bring the town's forgotten history to life. Our collective journey has led to discoveries like the concealed Terrace Tavern and the enigmatic Paisley Alien Gargoyle, featured in our branding alongside the town's acclaimed pattern. Our drone has captured the essence of Paisley Abbey and the Coats building. We present a treasury of 400 videos, with a collective viewership exceeding 4 million. Paisley Heritage transcends a mere repository; it unfolds as a narrative, intricately weaving the legacy of our town. We host events at local tourism attractions and our venue in the UWS, featuring speakers. These events are managed by our dedicated event manager, Rachael Smith. Our online store, paisleyshop.co.uk, offers prints, cups, T-shirts, books, and jewellery. The store's revenue enables us to host events and visit care homes to deliver engaging talks. We recently discovered we have 3,000 more followers than the Edinburgh Dungeon and plan to roll out a range of tourist attractions soon. We express our deepest gratitude to each member for their active participation, discussions, and contributions to exploring Paisley's rich history. Your unique perspectives enrich our community and preserve Paisley's heritage. The positive atmosphere within our platform is a testament to the collaborative spirit and support you, our cherished community, have fostered. Here’s a look back at some of our biggest highlights: 🚀 "Alien Gargoyle" Goes Viral We sparked global attention with the discovery of the mysterious "Alien Gargoyle" in Paisley, sending waves across social media! 🍻 Rediscovered Hidden History Unearthed a 300-year-old pub, the Terrace Tavern, beneath the streets of Paisley, bringing this hidden slice of history back to life. 🎥 Community Engagement Celebrated our 100th video milestone by encouraging 100 people to say, “I love Paisley!” It was heartwarming to see the community’s pride shining through. 📸 Drone Cinematography Success Captured breathtaking drone footage inside Paisley Abbey, which garnered over 190,000 views! A true testament to the beauty and history of Paisley. ❤️ Charity Initiative Launched a calendar campaign supporting the STAR Project, raising £500 for vital local community efforts. Thank you to everyone who supported this meaningful cause! 🤝 Collaborative Projects Joined forces with amazing organisations, including St Mirren and Sma’ Shot Cottages, to work on initiatives that enhance the community spirit in Paisley. 🚁 Unique Drone Exploration Successfully navigated a drone inside the iconic Thomas Coats Memorial, showcasing its architectural beauty for all to see! 📅 Event Success Organised and participated in 65 events, each attracting over 600 attendees, bringing people together and celebrating Paisley’s rich history. 🎬 Content Success Produced over 400 videos with a collective reach of more than 4 million views, averaging 2 million views per month on our Facebook page! 🌍 Thriving Community Built a passionate social media community of over 38,000 members across platforms, strengthening connections and fostering a shared pride in Paisley. 💙 Thank you all for your incredible support throughout 2024!
