Parentkind aims to give those in parenting roles a voice in childrens' education and a link between home and school.
About us
When our charity was first set up over 60 years ago, our goal was to advance education by encouraging homes and schools to work together; helping parents to have a voice in their child’s school and at a national level. In the last few years we have gone back to these roots by supporting and championing all the ways that parents can get involved in their child’s education and school.

Parentkind is deeply committed to ensuring that parent voices are an integral component of the national conversation on education. To that end, we recently hosted a highly productive webinar featuring Professor Becky Francis CBE, Chair of the independent Curriculum and Assessment Review. This event provided a platform for parents to directly engage with Professor Francis, sharing their valuable perspectives, concerns, and aspirations for the future of education in the UK. We are thankful that Professor Francis and the Department for Education are committed to genuine stakeholder engagement. By prioritising the voices of parents, they are demonstrating a commitment to developing education policies that are truly responsive to the needs of students and families. Parentkind believes that this collaborative model, where policymakers actively engage with those most impacted by their decisions, is essential for building a world-class education system. We encourage you to explore the key takeaways from this important discussion and watch the recorded webinar: https://lnkd.in/eJqEsuux

The Government have announced that they will be beginning a year-long pilot of free school breakfast clubs beginning in April. 750 schools will be chosen to be part of the pilot, with all parents being offered 30 minutes of free childcare before school each morning, during which time their child will receive a nutritious breakfast. In 2026, following the pilot, this initiative will be rolled out across all primary schools across England. We welcome this news, recognising the relief that it will bring to many parents and their children. In the National Parent Survey 2024, we found that almost almost 4 in 5 (79%) parents in England support the roll out of breakfast clubs for all primary school children.
