Has the sponsor already determined the contract awardee prior to conducting the bid defence meetings....... When participating in bid defence meetings, understanding the decision-making timeline is crucial for efficient resource allocation and strategic planning. For CROs, preparing for these meetings requires a significant investment of time and effort, often spanning weeks of detailed work to tailor presentations, assemble expert teams, and refine proposals to align with the sponsor's needs. Given this level of preparation, it raises the question of whether this effort is always justified. If the sponsor has already decided on the contract awardee prior to the bid defence meetings, this could render the process a mere formality for some participants, potentially wasting their time and resources. On the other hand, a really impressive bid defence meeting performance might change the mind of the sponsor company. That would justify the considerable time and resource investment. Do you think the sponsor has often determined the contract awardee prior to conducting the bid defence meetings?
