It's been a busy few months at Pennine ACT working with our coaching and mentoring partners to achieve their goals and help them be the best version of themselves. We often get asked what's the difference between coaching and mentoring and we summarise it as " a coach has questions for your answers and a mentor has answers for your questions". At Pennine ACT we also offer a personalised, blended approach so you have protected, quality time in a safe space to discuss whatever's on your mind in a way that works for you. If you're interested in investing in yourself or one of your team please get in touch at letstalk@pennineact.com Coaching and mentoring is rewarding for both parties and it's great to receive feedback showing you've made a difference. "I’ve had a mixture of coaching and mentoring from Janice when I started in my role as Superintendent Pharmacist. I wasn’t quite sure exactly what support I would need but Janice’s experience and mentoring skills were effective to tease out the difficulties I was experiencing or possible hurdles I would come across depending on my approach to touch situations. She helped me to reframe my mind when experiencing tension or conflict with key stakeholders, eliminate self-doubt that I didn’t realise I had and provided me with tools and language to use for the future. We mapped out the boundaries and substance of my new role, we had discussions about many regulatory issues which I would need to resolve and how to engage with others to “conduct the orchestra”, not necessarily play all the instruments myself. All in all, I’ve valued every session with Janice, would recommend her to any pharmacy professional for coaching or mentoring and particularly for those roles where you are quite stand alone or one of one."

Sorry seems to be the hardest word. Not only the title of an Elton John song but something pharmacy professionals sometimes struggle with when things go wrong. Our next Pharmacy Superintendent's forum is on the 16th July where we'll be talking about putting things right, Duty of Candour and Just Cultures. If you are a Pharmacy Superintendent of 1 pharmacy or multiple, a Chief Pharmacist, or someone working in their team and would like to join us, get in touch. Either message Elaine Hand-Griffiths or Janice Perkins or email us at letstalk@pennineact.com Looking forward to a lively discussion.

Not the (in)famous book but the subject of the next Pharmacy Superintendents' and Chief Pharmacists' forum on Wednesday 8th May at 7.30pm. We're talking about how to support pharmacists with: - being comfortable with ambiguity - saying "yes" safely - how to be consistent when things aren't black and white If you are a Pharmacy Superintendent of any size of business, a Chief Pharmacist, or just have aspirations to be one and would like to join us, please message Elaine Hand-Griffiths or Janice Perkins or email us at letstalk@pennineact.com. Next Tuesday evening sees the first Pharmacy Superintendent and Chief Pharmacist's forum. We've chosen clinical governance as the first topic as that was the one with the highest number of responses. We're really looking forward to seeing you there. There's still plenty of time to register if you want to get involved. https://lnkd.in/eZT7eiMB
