Perane is delighted to introduce our sister firm Inheritec. In recent months, we have focused heavily on identifying unclaimed assets due to estates which were inadvertently missed during the time of administration. The positive impact of reuniting these funds to the rightful beneficiaries, particularly during a period of economic uncertainty for many, has evidenced the need for services which support of those individuals in navigating the complex and time-consuming processes involved in repatriating assets. Due to the huge volume of assets identified and repatriated, we have created a company to specifically undertake this crucial work. Working together, Perane and Inheritec will be able to offer a range of services to assist with the complete process of identifying unclaimed assets to full estate administration.

HM Revenue & Customs figures have revealed that Inheritance Tax receipts for April 2024 were £700million, which is £85million or 7.2% higher than the same month last year. This week the International Monetary Fund suggested that the Chancellor should raise IHT by broadening its base. What effect would that have? These days personal information, online identities and financial profiles persist beyond our lifetime. Until such time as governance of digital data is regulated, this can create problems for executors.
