Interesting to read the interview in Sifted this morning with Mark Thompson at our friends PsiQuantum on European quantum and we appreciate the shout out. We agree that Europe can be the world leader in quantum software. If we want to realise the potential of quantum computers, then we need the quantum algorithms that will help us harness the benefits. This is why we founded Phasecraft - to develop the quantum algorithms that will help us reach practical quantum advantage by providing solutions to help tackle the climate crisis and many other applications. Even with imperfect hardware, the quantum algorithms we’re developing are making a difference already and we’re working with hardware partners across the world to test this. We’ve hired incredible talent from universities across the continent and our three-month internship programme for PhD students and early career researchers is now open for applications. If you’re interested in shaping the future of quantum computing, then please apply using the link in the comments. #quantumsoftware #quantumalgorithms #quantumcomputing #europeantech

As Peter Barrett says, quantum algorithms are improving faster than hardware. This is critical if we are to tackle the world's most ambitious problems and reach the goal of practical quantum advantage 👏 Make sure to read his great piece in MIT Technology Review about the recent advances in quantum computing and what is coming next for our exciting industry. #quantumalgorithims #quantumcomputing #quantumadvantage
Not trying to pile on after NVIDIAs difficult #DeepSeek day but it is good to recognize that we are on the threshold of a new set of technologies beyond AI that have the potential to usher in an era of unprecedented dynamism in chemistry, materials science, and medicine. Companies like PsiQuantum, Phasecraft, NVision Imaging Technologies and Ideon Technologies give us new tools to orchestrate the quantum nature of nature in ways that no amount AI ever could.
Useful quantum computing is inevitable—and increasingly imminent

Creating future quantum leaders: what it’s like to take part in the Phasecraft Internship Programme We have recently opened applications to our annual Internship Programme, where we welcome PhD students and early-career researchers to step beyond academic research and work on ambitious projects for three months. But what’s it really like to take part in the programme? We asked three of our interns from last year their thoughts: Beatriz: “At Phasecraft, I liked the rhythm of discussing problems with colleagues and finding solutions together. It was fast and dynamic, which I found really motivating.” Brent: “Working directly with hardware was a completely new and rewarding challenge. It gave me a fresh perspective on how quantum theory translates into practice." Mahathi: “Previously I had worked on more theoretical problems, so it was interesting to work on quantum algorithms in chemistry that could have a tangible impact." You can learn more about Beatriz, Brent and Mahathi’s experience in our blog here. If you are interested in applying for this year’s programme, the link to apply is in the comments or please share any questions you may have! #quantumalgorithms #quantumcomputing #internship

Exciting news: the Phasecraft Internship Programme is now open for applications! The three-month-long program offers PhD students and early-career researchers the opportunity to step beyond academic research, work on ambitious projects, engage with our team of world-class scientists and engineers, and gain hands-on insights into how scientific advances can be turned into real-world impact. Some of the work undertaken by our former interns has led to high-quality publications, whilst past projects have ranged from theoretical work on the underpinning mathematics of quantum algorithms to writing code for real or simulated quantum hardware. Here are the details: 💥 Paid position with a competitive salary 💥 Based with the Phasecraft team in either of our offices: Bristol, London, and for the first time this year, Washington DC 💥 Internships take place over the summer months, though dates can be flexible 💥 You should have a demonstrable and keen interest in quantum computing and information, having taken a taught course on quantum computing or a closely related topic, or have research experience in the area 💥 The closing date is the 9th March 2025 We are looking forward to welcoming the next generation of quantum computing talent! #quantumalgorithms #quantumcomputing #internship

Phasecraft co-founder and CTO Toby Cubitt recently had the chance to sit down with Yuval Boger to record an episode of The Superposition Guy’s Podcast. This was a really insightful conversation covering a huge range of topics from the role of hybrid quantum-classical algorithms in accelerating materials science to the critical need for higher gate fidelities in quantum computing. The pair also had the chance to discuss the question on everyone’s minds: when might quantum computing deliver commercially useful results. You can listen to the full episode below, this is not one to miss! #quantumcomputing #podcast #quantumalgorithms #practicalquantumadvantage

We are delighted to welcome Elizabeth Crosson to Phasecraft! Elizabeth joins our Washington DC office as a Senior Quantum Algorithms Scientist. Elizabeth was previously an Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico and a Postdoc at the Caltech Institute for Quantum Information and Matter. She completed her PhD in physics at the University of Washington in 2015. Elizabeth’s research interests span many theoretical aspects of quantum computation, including adiabatic algorithms, Hamiltonian complexity, quantum error correction, and classical simulations of quantum systems. Interested in learning more about opportunities at Phasecraft? We have a number of open roles across the UK and US: https://lnkd.in/egY3DXEZ #quantumalgorithms #quantumcomputing #deeptech #hiring

Bridging the gap between groundbreaking quantum research and practical applications is at the heart of our mission at Phasecraft, and collaboration between academia and industry is key to achieving this. With this in mind, we recently had the pleasure of welcoming Leo Zhou, Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as a Visiting Fellow for three months at our Bristol HQ. During his time with us, Leo conducted research, led seminars, and co-authored a paper with our CEO, Ashley Montanaro, showcasing how Phasecraft’s algorithms can solve certain optimisation problems faster than classical computers. 🎙️ “Phasecraft is an exceptional place where theoretical rigour meets practical application. The team’s unique combination of solid theoretical foundations and a practical, software-driven approach creates an agile environment for tackling real-world quantum challenges.” Leo Zhou 🎙️ Read more about his experience working across our Bristol and London teams and contributing to our mission below. And if you’re a researcher in quantum computing or related fields and want to work on real-world applications of quantum technology as a future Visiting Fellow, we’d love to hear from you! Check out the comments for our latest opening. #quantumalgorithms #quantumcomputing #visitingfellow
