We're delighted to announce that Plan Vivo is currently being assessed by The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) for approval under its Core Carbon Principles (CCPs). Plan Vivo's application for CCP-Eligibility demonstrates our commitment to ensuring integrity within the VCM. Throughout our 27 years of operation, we have always strived towards continued best practice and improvement, whilst advocating a holistic, fair, and community-centred approach to carbon crediting. Initiatives like the CCPs are key to restoring and building market confidence for projects, investors, and buyers. Plan Vivo continues to contribute (alongside our partners and projects) to the emergence and development of the 'VCM 2.0' in which high integrity for all actors in the value chain is expected and rewarded. Yesterday at #COP16 the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance, in collaboration with Conservation International and partners, launched the High-Quality Blue Carbon Practitioners Guide. Plan Vivo were delighted to be able to feed into this vital resource, which is designed to create a shared understanding of “High-Quality” in blue carbon projects and build more effective and transparent collaboration between investors, project developers, and other stakeholders. 🎉Congratulations to all those involved with the zeroCARBON project for officially achieving Plan Vivo certification🎉 The project, located in Petén, Guatemala, also becomes the second to be certified beneath our updated Carbon Standard (PV Climate V5). Projects of this kind are critical. By working with local smallholders and communities to implement forestry and agroforestry systems, zeroCARBON seeks to increase biomass, regenerate ecosystems, and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities.
