We're looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to work on a portfolio of renewable energy projects that continue into 2030. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Teesside, with flexibility for some remote work and occasional site visits. As a senior planning engineer you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing project planning activities. You will collaborate closely with clients, project managers and stakeholders to develop, maintain and monitor project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and milestones. Additionally, you will provide guidance and mentorship to a team of planning engineers. Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited too): ▪ Develop, control, monitor, analyse and report on schedule related aspects for designated projects within a portfolio. ▪ Establish and monitor resource loaded, logic linked, baseline plan(s) for the project in accordance with project and corporate processes. ▪ Capture project budgetary costs and resources in the plan to determine time phasing of expenditure and the total project budget. ▪ Establish robust Work Breakdown Structures in terms of project scope and execution strategy. ▪ Interface with other departments regarding the project’s activities which may have an impact and ensure correctly captured data is input to the schedule and portfolio correctly. ▪ Facilitate acceptance of and ensure that the project plan embraces the full project work scope, is fit for purpose and is achievable. ▪ Ensure the reasons for, and the factors influencing each change to the project’s baseline plan and the implications of such change are understood and communicated with the wider project team. ▪ Lead on EVM (Earned Value Management) and practice within the project schedules. ▪ Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned portfolio by means of the Project Plan(s). Knowledge, Skills and experience ▪ Experience across the project lifecycle (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes). ▪ Excellent Primavera (P6) knowledge and experience. ▪ Experience in building cost and resource loaded plans ▪ Strong communication and presentation skills ▪ Experience / understanding in the interpretation of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools that exist in the Project Controls market. ▪ Experience / understanding of Earned Value Analysis ▪ Relevant experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a highly regulated environment. Qualifications - Desirable ▪ HNC/HND, degree qualified or experience in a cost related discipline is desirable. Why Join Us?
