Welcome to PMI UK toastmasters Club! Effective communication and leadership skills are vital when it comes to the role of being a Project Manager and Toastmasters is an efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of learning to master both. PMI UK Toastmasters will give you the skills and confidence you need to effectively formulate and express yourself in any situation, opening an entirely new world of possibilities. You’ll be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations and you’ll improve your relationships with others. Most of all, you’ll love the applause! Don’t expect to sit passively in the audience listening while somebody delivers a long lecture on a specialist subject. Toastmasters is all about participation. We help each other grow by giving feedback on each other’s speeches; we undertake various roles during an event; and of course, we give speeches ourselves. Also, the PMI members can claim PDUs for attendance (reported under the Leadership skill set as described in the PMI Talent Triangle) and participation and have the opportunity to network with fellow project management professionals. Mastering the art of influencing others’ beliefs through well-chosen words is timeless and offer great rewards.
