What Does Hyperglycaemia Really Mean? 🤔 Did you know that both type 1 and type 2 diabetes can lead to hyperglycaemia? People with diabetes often refer to it as being "high" or "hyper." While low blood sugar can be an immediate danger, high blood sugar causes long-term harm to the body. Unchecked, it can damage capillaries, nerves, and cells, leading to blindness, loss of sensation, gangrene, and even amputation. That’s why managing blood sugar levels is so vital! Want to make a difference? Join our CPD Accredited short course this Saturday (virtual classroom) to learn how to support people with diabetes effectively and understand the critical role of blood sugar control. 👉 Don’t wait – secure your spot now and help people stay healthy: https://lnkd.in/d7BiQnvP https://lnkd.in/esh5fcxx #DiabetesSupport #Hyperglycaemia #BloodSugarControl #DiabetesAwareness #CPDTraining

Do You Know What Hypoglycaemia Means? People with diabetes may experience hypoglycaemia, often calling it being "low" – shorthand for low blood sugars. Hypoglycaemia occurs when blood sugar levels drop below 4 mmol/L (71 mg/dL). While someone experiencing it may not see it as critical, it’s a medical emergency. If untreated, blood sugar levels can plummet further, leading to a diabetic coma – or worse. Prevention is key – but how can we achieve this? Let’s start the conversation. Learn more in our course o Diabetes Awareness this coming Saturday! https://lnkd.in/esh5fcxx #Diabetes #Hypoglycaemia #BloodSugarControl #DiabetesAwareness #HealthEducation

🧠 Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn? We’ve all heard of the fight or flight response, but did you know there are four ways our bodies respond to stress? 🌟 FIGHT When your body senses danger and believes you can overpower the threat, it switches to fight mode. Your brain sends signals to prepare for the physical demands of fighting. 🌟 FLIGHT If overpowering the danger seems impossible but escape is an option, your body chooses flight mode. Hormones like adrenaline kick in, giving you the stamina to flee further and faster than usual. 🌟 FREEZE Sometimes, stress causes us to feel completely stuck—unable to act. This happens when your body decides neither fight nor flight is an option. It’s often described as feeling like a "rabbit caught in the headlights." 🌟 FAWN The fawn response is an emotional reaction to danger. It happens when we respond by becoming overly agreeable or compliant to avoid further harm, particularly in abusive situations. 💡 Did you learn something new? Take it further with our Stress Management Courses! Gain practical skills to recognize and manage stress responses effectively. 🚨 Next course: This Saturday, 11 January at 09:30 AM! 👉 Secure your spot here: https://lnkd.in/evWwutn6 Let’s take charge of stress together! #Stress #MentalHealth #Wellbeing #MentalWellbeing #Abuse
