About us
Ponda (formerly Saltyco) is a biomaterials company developing novel textiles from truly regenerative fibres. Our mission is to regenerate the world's damaged wetlands through technologies that bring value to wetland-based crops. Ponda's first product, BioPuff®, is an insulation designed to keep you warm and dry, made from bulrushes that grow on regenerated wetlands. As a next-generation alternative to goose-down, BioPuff® not only is a fantastic puffy-filler, but it also contributes to removing carbon from the atmosphere, enhancing biodiversity and building climate resilience. Through working closely with farmers and landowners we're able to build confidence in their longterm farming future whilst ensuring traceability all the way from plant to puffer.

How many next-gen materials can you fit in one collaboration? PDS Ventures, Positive Materials and Petratex - Confecções SA introduce ‘Everloop’, a first-of-its-kind capsule collaboration spotlighting six key material innovators that offer sustainable fashion solutions across the value chain: AMPHICO, Materra, PACT, Nature Coatings, BioFluff and Ponda (formerly Saltyco). Read more about this exciting project here - https://lnkd.in/d7XRXz59 “We wanted to demonstrate that it's possible to create garments that not only look great, but also have a positive impact on the environment and our society. Through extensive collaboration and countless experiments and the collective efforts of our innovators, Positive Materials and Petratex, we were able to cover all aspects of garment production, from the next generation materials used in the outer shell of jackets, to the plant-based insulation that helps restore ecosystems.” explained Irene Maffini, Investor (Sustainability, Materials and Circularity Adviser) at PDS Ventures.
