Project Update: After working on this garden design since March, its really satisfying to see the site buzzing with life and the overarching vision start to take shape. A massive thank you to everyone involved who made this swim spa drop possible. I only wish all projects ran as smoothly as this one has. Hopefully, if the weather holds us, we will be able to share a few more shots of the project before its completed in the next month or so. Fingers crossed! P.S. Just imagine this video with some bangin D&B music! #swimmingpool #gardendesign #gardeninspiration

Perfect Pool Design? Don’t Forget Services! So, you’ve designed your pool perfectly, right? Everything looks spectacular until... oops, there’s a problem. Ever faced drainage issues, electrical cut-outs, or internet connection failures? It’s likely you overlooked a crucial design area: services. Key Design Areas: - Drainage - Mains Water - Electrical Supply - LPHW Supply - Ethernet Connection Focus on Drainage Backwash Drainage: Ensures contaminated water is removed from the filter bed. A high flow rate is needed, so separate drainage lines are essential to prevent flooding. AHU Condensate Drain: Controls humidity by extracting moisture. Neglecting this can lead to water hazards in your plant room. Air Source Heat Pump Drain: Similar to AHU, it needs proper drainage to avoid constant wet patches. Filter Drains: For emptying the filter tank and releasing air. Prevents water mess in the plant room. Header Tank Overflow Drain: Avoids flooding from stuck feed valves by ensuring overflow has a proper escape. Pool Shell Overflow Drain: Limits water level, preventing cover damage and overflow. Balance Tank Drain: Simplifies cleaning of the balance tank, reducing maintenance efforts. Undercroft Drain: Essential for unexpected leaks, preventing waterlogging. General Floor Drain: Keeps plant rooms clean from spills and maintenance activities. Sauna and Steam Room Drains: Crucial for cleaning and maintenance, often overlooked but necessary. Properly designing your pool’s services is as important as its aesthetics. Stay tuned for design tips. Next week I'll be discussing the other services required. #PoolDesign #SwimmingPool #HomeImprovement #DesignTips #PoolMaintenance #SafetyFirst

Enjoy Your Pool Year-Round, Even in British Weather! Living in Britain has many perks, but the weather isn't one of them. It's July, 17°C, and barely sunny—hardly peak summer! But what if you could swim regardless of the weather? Enter: the swimming pool enclosure. What is a Swimming Pool Enclosure? A swimming pool enclosure is a modular structure designed to cover and protect your pool. Made from durable materials like glass or polycarbonate, these telescopic enclosures slide to cover or uncover the pool as needed. They come in various styles—low, medium, high, and wall-mounted—offering custom design options. Benefits: 1. Extended Swimming Season: Swim comfortably year-round, shielded from wind, rain, and debris. 2. Heat Retention: Keeps water warm, reducing heating costs and saving energy. 3. Reduced Maintenance: Keeps out leaves and dirt, making pool maintenance easier. 4. Increased Safety: Lockable doors and panels prevent unauthorized access, protecting children and pets. 5. Privacy: Frosted panels ensure you swim away from prying eyes. 6. Aesthetics: Enhances your pool area, adding a stylish and functional touch. Overall, a telescopic swimming pool enclosure maximises your pool investment and enjoyment, offering versatility and efficiency. Stay tuned for our next post about different enclosure profiles and design options! To read the full article, visit out website. Big thanks to Alukov UK and Alzbeta Murray for helping with this article. #SwimmingPoolEnclosure #PoolLife #YearRoundSwimming #BritishWeather #HomeImprovement #PoolDesign #alukov

Supplier visit to RECOTHERM LIMITED What better way to spend my first Monday back at my deck after a well earned annual break than a trip to see the wonderful ladies and gentlemen at Recotherm. Apart from the 50mph speed limit almost the entire way down on the M1 and the outrageous coffee prices it was a wonderful way to get back into the flow of things. The team at Recotherm definitely know a thing or two about pool hall environmental controls and air handling units. It was great to gain a deeper insight into the technical aspects of their units, how they are constructed, and what makes them stand out from the crowd. Plus, who can say no to a free lunch! Even though Subway did forget my cookie!... #mechanicalengineering #achitecture #archdaily #swimming #swimmingpool #swimmingpooldesign

New Project Alert! We are happy to announce that Pool Logic have been commissioned by a client to bring their vision to life. On Friday, the client, architect, structural engineer, and main contractor (and myself - obviously!) all sat down to discuss some key areas of design and how the project should move forward. Collaboration is critical during a project of this size and scale and it's key everyone is contributing and providing their individual insight. During this meeting the client said something that really struck a cord - they said "I've always wanted to create something spectacular". This is a sentiment we can 100% get behind and we aim to bring this sentiment forward into reality! I couldn't have said it better myself. Let's hope that throughout this design and construction process Pool Logic and all the partners involved can honour that vision. Keep an eye on this space for more project updates. #swimmingpooldesign #swimming #swimmingpool #construction #archidaily #architect #architecture

New Design Sneak Peak... Over the last couple of months we have been working with a domestic client who had no idea what she wanted. She only stated that she may want a swim spa, but other than that the project was a blank slate. This has been one of our favourite projects so far this year as we have had the space to be creative. Moreover, the client has been open and receptive to all manner of landscaping and pool ideas. Hopefully, within the next couple of months we'll start to see some movement on the construction process. A big thank you to Alukov UK and Alzbeta Murray for all the time and effort they have put into this project.

Here are our 6 things you should know before starting your pool project. Building a swimming pool at your home or business is a big undertaking and sometimes it can be quite stressful. These are out 6 things everyone should know before they start their project. 1) This is a Commitment. Just like any construction or home improvement project, it's a big undertaking - time, money, stress, disruption. Moreover, your input is required throughout the process. 2) It Isn't Cheap We all know this, but swimming pools aren't cheap. The initial capital investment and running costs are substantial. Plus, as this is a niche industry, the expertise required to design, construct, and maintain comes at a premium. 3) It's Not a Quick Process It might sound obvious, but this style of project takes time. Pool engineers are often very busy people, with long waiting time. Suppliers aren't on every corner, like general builders’ merchants, so getting the right supplies can take time. Just be patient. 4) Engage with the Experts Early We all know that building a swimming pool requires specialist trades and materials, but often pool engineers are only engaged after planning permission has been approved. This is often too late to fix any fundamental design issues - like a tiny plant room. 5) Get it Designed First If you're building a swimming pool, you're spending tens, if not hundreds of thousands of pounds. Make sure it's spent on the correct equipment and materials. No one wants to waste time and resources all because the project was designed on the back of a fag packet. 6) Remember Why The most important thing to remember, once the project has been completed and you take your first swim in your newly finished pool, you will instantly forget all the stress and disruption you may have had during the project. It will all be worth it! If you want to learn more about swimming pool construction or design, or if you want to discuss an upcoming project, book a call with Pool Logic today. #swimmingpool #swimmingpooldesign #homeimprovement #architecture #architect

This is a project we've been working on over the last couple of weeks or so. The client wants a high-end overflow pool with a slightly submerged lounging section next to the stairs. Today we've been adding the tiles to the walls and seeing what arrangements work well. Plenty of work still to do, but we are making progress! #swimming #swimmingpool #swimmingpooldesign #architecture #archdaily #landscapedesign #homeimprovement
