As we wrap up 2024, we’re proud to reflect on a year filled with incredible achievements, strong performance, and community impact. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve accomplished this year: ✅ The Port delivered its quickest summer average processing time for ferry passengers. Passengers waited for only ten minutes on average at border control, compared to 40 minutes in 2023. ✅ As the year draws to a close, 8.6 million people travelled through the ferry terminal before the Christmas period, a 5% increase from 2023. ✅ We welcomed 21 different cruise lines and six inaugural calls, with multiple weekends seeing three cruise ships docked at once. An exciting future is ahead, with plans for cruise terminal improvements through the 2050 programme to reflect Dover as a leading global tourist destination. ✅ Port of Dover Cargo delivered a strong performance with strategic investments in infrastructure, including enhancements to the cargo handling process. ✅ The Outer Marina, which opened in April 2023, was rated as one of the top 300 marinas out of 15,000 across the world in 2024 by Navily, the most innovative cruising guide and home to a large online community of boaters. ✅ The Port of Dover Community Fund exceeded £1.3 million in donations in 2024, marking nine years of enriching social, cultural and environmental life in and around Dover. ✅ The whole Port showed operational excellence by spearheading the reduction of carbon emissions in the maritime industry through our environment and sustainability initiatives. 2024 has highlighted our vital role in supporting national growth in many ways. My thanks go to our team, partners, local community and customers for helping us to deliver a brilliant year and shaping our future. Today, the Port of Dover was delighted to welcome members of the House of Lords Justice and Home Affairs Committee to tour all of the work we have done to ensure we were ready for the EU Entry-Exit System (EES) expected in November 2024. We discussed our long-standing and continuing desire for the pre-registration of EES to be conducted remotely, set alongside the delay to the implementation of EES that has now occurred and the opportunities this delay may present for ensuring the smooth implementation of the system. Finally, we were able to showcase our Port of Dover 2050 plans 🌍, setting out the long-term aspirations of the Port and its continuing and increasing role in facilitating smooth, seamless and sustainable trade and travel between the UK and the EU. 🚢 #PortOfDover #EES #UKTrade #SustainableTravel #PortOfDover2050

🚢 Dover Cruise marks the end of a busy, year-round 2024 season! 🌟 ✨ AIDA Cruises visited Dover six times as a port of call throughout 2024, joining 20 other cruise lines sailing there this season as a destination or turnaround hub. 🛳️ 🌍 Highlights included inaugural calls from Viking Saturn, CFC - Compagnie Française de Croisières (CFC) Renaissance, Seabourn Venture, TUI Mein Schiff 4, Fred. Olsen’s Borealis and Crystal Symphony. There were two days with three cruise ships in simultaneously! 🙌 With the WD4 berth providing direct access to the Marina Curve and wider waterfront by foot. Holland America Line’s Nieuw Statendam had a special visit in April, before she returns to Dover, her UK homeport, for a full season in 2025. 🌟 Dover’s flagship community event, the Regatta, was sponsored by Fred. Olsen, which is the first time it’s been supported by a cruise line.
