  • Good morning 🤩 We are feeling pretty grateful this week with thanks to our amazing customers - you are amazing 😊 Black Friday, or Black Friday month, Cyber Monday etc isn’t ideal for many small businesses like Preloved Sports, especially as we try and make fitness affordable and accessible to others. We keep our prices low to change the stigma around secondhand / Preloved kit and we cannot compete with these sales. November and December are our usually our quietest months because of this. However, November was one of our busiest months this year and our busiest November to date, processing over 45 orders. We cannot thank you enough for your amazing support. It is reassuring and makes us feel extremely proud of the work we do to us fitness as a driver for positive change. Although we introduced a new pricing structure last month, this makes things fair, consistent and allows our prices to be permanently low. Thank you again for your amazing support ☺️ The proceeds from sales allows us to help those in need. Two boxes of kit has been sent to a children’s centre who support those in care and gets them into sports. Plus a car boot full of clothing has been delivered to Carecent to provide warm clothing for the homeless. #running #reducereuserecycle #donatesportswear #runnersworld #run #runninggirl #talkingaboutloss #runnersofinstagram #runner #runningmotivation #runningcommunity #runningman #runhappy #prelovedsports #runningisforeveryone #sportswear #sportsclothing Re-Action Collective

  • Reusable race numbers anyone 😉 Since we made the reusable patches for Julia Davies and Gwent Wildlife Trust, we received a message from Oliver asking if we could create race numbers that can be reused time and time again. We got our thinking caps on and agreed to create a sample batch of 30 numbers to see how this would work and perform in a real world environment. The transfers were ordered from Supacolour UK Ltd and arrived within a couple of days. There was a box of white vests in our lockup which would be perfect for this project so we created a template and cut out the squares required for the project. Yesterday, we got to work in creating these race numbers (along with our patches for our friends over at Into Ultra and The Green Runners ). The race numbers are basic to start with but have the scope to add logos etc. Traditional Tyvek numbers are cheap and cannot be recycled. Although we couldn’t compete on price, these race number can be washed (the transfers are guaranteed for 80 washes but after 9 races, they would start to pay for themselves, creating a solution that is affordable and more sustainable. • Our new pricing structure has been approved by the team and will be implemented on all stock moving forward. Current stock is unaffected. We are often asked how we price items on the shop. In all honesty, we Google the item then make a price up. This needed to change as we had a range of differences in prices and were not consistent. This new structure does not mean people will pay more and isn’t a ploy to maximise income. In fact, we believe many items will stay the same or be cheaper than previously advertised on Preloved Sports. Some items may be more expensive but overall, everything should balance out. Brand new items with tags will be 50% of their RRP. Brand new items without tags will be 40% of their RRP. Everything else is tiered down as per the image. For example, we have some Under Armour crop tops where the RRP is £58.00. Brand new with tags - £29.00 Brand new no tags - £23.20 Excellent condition - £11.60 Very good condition - £9.28 Good condition - £6.96 Reasonable condition - £4.64 We believe the new pricing structure provides fairness and allows us to be completely transparent.

At Nice Work, we believe that running should be for everyone and that every event should respect our beautiful planet. Our commitment to inclusivity and environmental stewardship drives us to make positive changes in how we organise races. However, making meaningful change in the race industry isn’t easy. While we strive for inclusivity and sustainability, it can feel daunting, and we’re not perfect (yet), but we continually strive to find innovative solutions. That’s why we’re excited to launch the Green Santa Run on 1st December, 2024, at Alice Holt Forest! This event offers a 5K, 10K, and a fun 1K junior race, welcoming all abilities with accessible features like parking, quiet spaces, and sign language interpretation. We’re also committed to eco-friendly practices, including recyclable cups, no paper communications, and Preloved Sports CIC will be offering a kit swap for recycling gear. Participants are encouraged to don festive attire, with a prize for the best-dressed runner! Join us in celebrating inclusivity and sustainability in running. Together, we can create positive change! 👉 Register for the Green Santa Run! www.nice-work.org.uk #GreenSantaRun #Inclusivity #Sustainability #RunningCommunity #AliceHoltForest

Director at Preloved Sports CIC Open to sustainable partnerships and collaborations to help reduce waste whilst providing inspiration, opportunities and support to others.

Happy #citizenfriday 🤩 This is an exciting update from myself and the Preloved Sports CIC team. A few weeks ago, we were approached by Julia Davies and Gwent Wildlife Trust to see if it was possible to create reusable patches that runners can pin onto their running gear and transferred to other tees over and over again without the need to create an ever growing mountain of polyester tees. After a few discussions with Julia, the artwork was sent to Supacolour UK Ltd who managed to turn around the prints within a couple of days and as soon as they arrived, I got straight to work pressing them on to white polyester fabric. This fabric is from polyester event tees that have been donated to us from runners who no longer want them. Each tee is cut down into panels with the offcuts being boxed and ready for cushions so nothing is wasted. This is the end result and we are hoping other charities can get on board with this to prevent waste by repurposing the material that is already in circulation. I’m not sure on the carbon emissions for one tee (maybe someone can enlighten me to this figure), but we’ve used a total of 4 tees to create: • 10x Running for Wildlife slogans • 10x Gwent Wildlife Trust logos • 20x small Gwent Wildlife Trust logos • 8x names The names can be reused by the runners for other events and if the logo / slogan patches are handed back in at the end of a race, they could potentially be used by other runners, over and over again. It’s been an exciting project and one that will help drive positive change 👕 Re-Action Collective Gavin Fernie-Jones The Green Runners

Since 2021 Turnstile has committed to delivering an annual ‘Dividend for the Planet’, where 2% of company profits are invested into offsetting emissions and supporting effective environmental projects around the world. This year we are proud to continue our support of Operation Crayweed, an organisation dedicated to restoring underwater forests on Sydney’s precious coastline. The second organisation, Preloved Sports CIC based in the UK, rehome, recycle and repurpose sportswear to minimise environmental impact and encourage community involvement through sport. #healthyplanet #zerowaste #sustainability

  • We have received 10 plant cups from Allwag Promotions | Branded Merchandise & Clothing | Certified BCorp™ through A Good Thing (UK) 🤩 Preloved Sports joined A Good Thing a little while ago as they can help make it easy for businesses to donate unwanted items to local charities. These cups came up and we thought they would be perfect for our Mobile Community Hub to provide warm drinks whilst we discuss the mental barriers that prevent people from taking the first step. Thank you Allwag Promotions and A Good Thing 😊

  • Our Mobile Community Hub is a step closer to being finished after a couple of weeks of hard work, numerous calls and emails. We have a few little jobs to do but hopefully our mobile community hub will be out and about by the end of mobile to help more people get active. Thank you to everyone who has helped, supported and offered advice through the creation of our Mobile Community Hub. We also couldn’t do this without the support of The National Lottery Community Fund and National Lottery players. Together, we can help more people get active and improve their mental health and wellbeing 🙏 Re-Action J Tech Vans Ltd VAN FIT SOLUTIONS

  • Exciting times ahead for Preloved Sports as our plans start to take shape. The van is booked in next week with VAN FIT SOLUTIONS to have it converted into a mobile community hub to help make fitness more affordable and accessible to everyone 😊
