About us
Princess Alice Hospice is a local charity that provides free palliative and end of life care supporting families before, during, and after death. At any one time, we support around 1,000 patients both at the Hospice in Esher and in their own homes, in a care area of over 600 square miles across Surrey and South West London. Princess Alice Hospice is a centre of excellence but every day we are improving our services to improve on that excellence as well as being leaders in palliative and end of life care education. We have made it our mission to reach even more people in our care area with the expert end of life and palliative care that everyone deserves. For Excellence. For Compassion. For People. For Living.🕊️

Thank you to everyone who has shared our post and contacted us offering to help with the Christmas tree collections, we now have enough volunteers and vans to complete all of our collections. We are extremely grateful.
❗ Can you help? ❗ We’ve been told today that the large company that had committed to donate most of the vans and volunteers we need to collect Christmas trees this week is now unable to do so. We’d taken a record number of bookings for this service – brilliant news for our fundraising efforts – so now we are appealing to our amazing local community as we really need your help. We’re extremely grateful to our friends at Garsons Garden Centre, Squire's Garden Centres, Barratt Redrow, BD Living, OHOB Training Academy, Lawnscience Epsom Lawn Care, Kier Group, and Kelly's Storage Ltd who have so kindly stepped in to help – but we still need more! Could you, or anyone you know, help us by volunteering either themselves, a van, or both - to help us collect trees for any period of time between Thursday 9 January and Wednesday 15 January? Any and all help would be much appreciated. As you know, only 20% of our income is from the NHS so we rely on vital fundraising initiatives like these tree collections. ❤️ Please share and if you know anyone you think may be able to help, please pass this on. If you can help, please contact us on customerexperience@pah.org.uk Thank you! For Excellence. For Compassion. For People. For Living. 🕊

We welcome the announcement by the Government of a £100m investment into hospices. It is a vital first step in the funds required to stabilise the sector. We look forward to receiving further details of the funding process. We also value the recognition given by the Department for Health and Social Care and Secretary of State Wes Streeting MP, to the significant role hospices can play in shifting care out of hospitals and into the community, improving people’s experience of care at the end of their lives. We would also like to thank Toby Porter and the whole of the Hospice UK team, their tireless efforts over the past year have achieved this significant investment from the Government. The need for hospice care continues to grow. We are committed to using any additional funds to further increase our reach and reduce unmet need significantly. We will also continue to call for a longer-term, fairer funding package for hospices. For Excellence. For Compassion. For People. For Living. 🕊️
