📣 Anxiety among children is rising - experts warn of an “epidemic” New data from Priory reveals a 34% rise in children needing treatment for anxiety in 2024. Consultant psychiatrist Dr Hayley van Zwanenberg warns that social anxiety, school pressures, and undiagnosed neurodiversity are fuelling the crisis. She says: “Anxiety disorders are treatable so it is essential people are able to recognise the symptoms and seek the right support. This is true regardless of your age, although it is particularly important for children and young people as earlier intervention will help to ensure long-term stability.” 💡 Priory’s free emotional wellbeing programme is helping children develop self-calming techniques and emotional resilience. Let’s celebrate Neill’s story at Cherrywood House 🏡📈 When Neill arrived at Cherrywood House, he needed round-the-clock care and support with every aspect of daily life. Being autistic, non-verbal, and experiencing severe global delay, his needs had become too complex for his family to manage alone. With the dedicated support of our team, Neill has made incredible progress. He’s now using new words and signs - he even called his father ‘Dad’ for the first time 💙 He’s learning to make choices, from picking out his clothes to preparing his breakfast, and enjoys activities like donkey therapy, farm visits, and trips to Longleat. Neill’s family say they are “very happy” with the care he has received, and our home manager describes him as “an amazing individual with a wonderful personality.” We are so proud of Neill’s achievements and continue to support him in developing his communication and independent living skills 🙌 To discover the support that we offer at Cherrywood House, visit: https://lnkd.in/eqW7v7m6
