It's been a brilliant five years with Reassured and I'm immensely proud of all we've achieved in that time. Adding advice, going digital, expanding and winning some huge partnerships and, not least, giving Steve and Laura's business the profile it deserves. This was neatly demonstrated by the Distribution Impact Award we won just last month at Protection Review - the scene of one of my most memorable and proud moments with Reassured a few years ago! 😉 I won't name all the people I'll miss but it would be remiss not to mention four special colleagues: Lucy BrownMatthew TaylorLauren Hygate and Natalia Valeria Marengo. This team has been the best I've ever assembled (somebody said "curated" the other day and that sounds perfect!) and will be a tough bunch of acts to follow in my future career. Lucy and Matt are both literally award winning, hugely respected colleagues while both Lauren and Natalia will eventually surpass us all and end up running bits of the industry such is their talent. Hoping you all have a wonderful Christmas. x

Why publish award winnners without saying what they're for? I don't mean the name of the award, but the reason it was won. Protection Review does this and I wish others would do so too, otherwise it makes the awards merry-go-round seem pretty shallow to me and misses a chance to illustrate what others could be aspiring to, for achieving excellence in the eyes of their peers. I still can’t quite believe I won! It was so lovely to read through the judges comments - not just for me but for all of the winners. It’s a reminder of how many incredible individuals we’re lucky to have in the protection industry. 🌟 This recognition means the world to me. 🌟 A Memorable Day and Night at the Protection Review Conference and Awards 🌟 On Wednesday this week, I had the privilege of attending the Protection Review Conference and Awards at the beautiful Landmark Hotels & Suites in Marylebone, #London. Thank you to Kevin Carr, Jo Miller and Roger Edwards for organizing such an outstanding event. Jo Miller asked, “How can we do better?” A question which seemed to echo throughout the day, capturing the desire of an industry that strives for improvement. While Alain Desmier highlighted that we are often “stuck” in a way of doing things, the conference reflected a strong commitment to rethinking how we engage, innovate, and deliver for clients. It’s clear that the drive to do better is at the heart of the industry’s progress for every customer we serve. A special thank you to Debbie Kennedy, Edward Axon and Ricky Butler from LifeSearch for inviting me to join their table in the evening. It was a pleasure to finally meet the team in person, especially on such a momentous occasion honouring their chairperson and founder, Tom Baigrie with the Lifetime Achievement Award. What a story and legacy. 👏 The craic was great with Rebecca Campbell David J Allan Gareth Jones Justin Harper and Caroline Thomas. It was lovely to spend time in the company of the LifeSearch team. As always it was great to spend the day with our client and friend Tracey Boyd and meet Rosalia Lazzara 🍯 in person. Wow, what an amazing night at the Protection Review Awards!   We’re absolutely delighted to have been awarded Organisation of the Year - what an incredible surprise. This is a massive achievement. Protection Review told us we won as we stood out across many award categories. We're incredibly proud to place that award on the Guardian trophy shelf.   But that’s not all. Our Underwriting and Claims Teams were also recognised for their care and commitment to our customers, winning the Underwriting and Claims Award. And we were highly commended for the Innovation Award.   As far as evenings go, it doesn’t get much better than that 😊   We really are so chuffed. Thank you so much to Protection Review and to everyone who supports us and voted for us. That was the day that was! Fantastic to see almost a year of planning coming together at #ProtectionReview24 yesterday- yes it really does take over 10 months to pull together as we’re only a small team but with big aspirations for an industry we believe in. Some of my personal highlights: * Seeing some great talent take to the stage for the first time and watch nerves and anticipation turn to excitement and a sense of accomplishment- never underestimate how important your perspective is! * Hearing some perspectives from outside of the industry so we can challenge our ways of thinking and working *Focusing forward- how can we be better? To say nothing of the evening! Recognising the best of the best and surprising a few legends! Congratulations to all of the winners and be proud! 🎉🎉 For anyone who saw me at Protection Review you will not be surprised to know that I’m off to bed to recover!
