  • The new Procurement Act is now live ▶️ But what does this mean for public sector procurements? Procurements initiated after 24th February must comply with the new Act, while those already underway will follow existing regulations. During the transition, commercial teams will manage procurements under both sets of regulations. Clear visibility of which procurements are new and which are ongoing is crucial. • It’s been 10 years since the Paris Agreement was signed, with countries around the world committing to limit a global temperature rise and reduce emissions for a sustainable future. 🌱 This February marks the deadline for countries to submit updated climate action plans, known as Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) - a milestone that happens just once every 5 years. 📅 But of course, this year isn’t any year as the U.S. withdraws from the Paris Agreement for a second time. Will we see other nations follow suit? Organizations face a different challenge as they span borders in a way that governments do not, and plural approaches mean added complexity and added cost. Businesses are essential in supporting nations to meet their climate goals, and reducing Scope 3 emissions is one of the toughest challenges for organizations. Our own research shows that there is a common gap between corporate ambition and the practical actions necessary to reduce emissions. Our Principal Consultant Bridget McCormick offers a perspective on how some organisations are seeking to ensure progress is made despite being in an era of uncertainty: https://lnkd.in/eSm_K4UE
