Regardless of the motivation for the incident in Germany if you are working an event this weekend please just make sure you put just a little bit more effort into your checks and briefings. Copy cats are not unheard of so just make sure you know what your response plan looks like, tell your teams what is expected and check that they understand. If something doesn’t look right, raise it, check it out and work together. Stay safe everyone. https://lnkd.in/e4vZuPBY

Another excellent guide from the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA), this one addresses the critical phases of Ingress and Egress at your venue. A thorough Counter-Terrorism Risk Assessment will identify the times when visitors to your event/ venue are most vulnerable - on entrance and exit - and suggest ways to mitigate the threat of a terrorist attack. Vehicle-borne attacks that target crowded places are especially devastating, causing high levels of injuries, fatalities and damage to buildings. An effective HVM and Perimeter Security strategy can mitigate this threat, acting both as a deterrent to would-be hostile actors, as well as buying precious time for pedestrians to flee the area, in the event of an attack. PSSA Members, operating to a strict code of conduct, can advise on the most appropriate, proportionate HVM strategy to protect your venue, and to keep your visiting crowds safe. #hvm #perimetersecurity #publicsafety
