As we wrap up 2024, another year which has flown by, with much accomplished at Ptarmigan Land We were especially proud to be celebrating Ptarmigan Land’s 21st year as a land promoter. Over the last two decades, we’ve worked to create innovative developments that add long-term value for both people and communities. Our journey has been defined by hard work, resilience, and a collaborative approach with our landowner partners. This year, our commitment to our ESG principles has seen us publish our ESG 2030 Plan and year-on-year targets, and then significantly outperform our own expectations, with an impressive 16.9% reduction in our company emissions since our 2023 baseline (our annual target is a 5% reduction), Social Value contributions equivalent to almost 70% of our annual turnover recognised (our 2030 target was 10%), and we’ve achieved Planet Mark certification for our second year. We’re proud to continue to prioritize sustainability across all our projects, from reducing our emissions, to enhancing social value and ensuring robust governance practices. These efforts have cemented our position as one of the leaders in responsible land promotion, and we look forward to making even more progress in 2025. Additionally, we are proud of our charitable achievements this year. We’ve supported over twelve charities and community events by fundraising, volunteering, and direct donations; continuing to give back to the communities that support us. On the business front, we’ve celebrated several planning application wins and we are now in the process of marketing over 5,800 homes to the development community which we hope will end up in delivering high-quality, sustainable developments. These successes are a reflection of our team's expertise, the strong relationships we've built with our team of consultants, stakeholders, and most importantly, our landowner partners as well as our ability to navigate the complexities of the planning landscape. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re optimistic about the future, particularly in light of the recent changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) introduced by the new government. These changes present exciting opportunities for the development sector, and we believe they will create a more streamlined and supportive planning environment. To our amazing team, landowner partners, consultants and shareholders —thank you for your support and hard work this year. Wishing you all a restful holiday season and a prosperous New Year. Hugo Kirby, Charles Wheatman and Craig Neilson

Did you know that 5th December is the UN’s International Volunteer Day? At Ptarmigan, many of our team volunteer their spare time in support of all sorts of different charities and community groups, because we all feel it’s important to help do our part when it comes to supporting those in need. From supporting Wounded Veterans, to mentoring young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, supporting community groups with pro bono specialist services, singing in community choirs, and visiting schools, colleges, universities, and community groups as Industry Ambassadors. We are proud that our team feel motivated to lend a hand with inspiring community groups in their areas to help make a real difference. Let us know if you volunteer too – what great causes do you support? https://lnkd.in/gUZAydY #InternationalVolunteerDay #IVD2024 #UNSDGs #BuildaSustainableWorld #mentalhealthandwellbeing

Last year, Ptarmigan began our #ESG reporting journey with Planet Mark. With their guidance and support, we have recently updated our #2030Plan and set our #annualtargets for 2024-25. These form stepping-stones on our #sustainabilityjourney towards becoming a #NetZeroImpact business by 2050. Ptarmigan recently helped sponsor the #Berinsfieldfireworksevent which took place on November 3rd. Ptarmigan have been working closely with the local community for a number of years as part of our continued promotion of the strategic allocation of #BerinsfieldGardenVillage. The Berinsfield Community Fireworks Display managed to raise £1409.75 in aid of the #BerryYouthCentre. The centre is run by local volunteers and the funds raised will help to continue its operations and services for young people. Thank you to all the local community who helped support the event and to all those that joined throughout the evening celebrations, which were a big success and enjoyed by a great many of the residents. One of many wonderful comments: “What a wonderful firework display and community spirit, well done to all involved. Thank you all”. 🎆 Olly Buck Elle Williams

The Community Veg Garden, launched in 2023 in Channels, Chelmsford and is a community-driven initiative currently owned and managed by the Channels Community Stewardship CIC. Its mission is to help foster a sense of community and enhance the wellbeing of local residents. The project was made possible through the CIC Growth Points funding provided by Ptarmigan Land, along with grants from Chelmsford City Council's Greener Grant, Morrisons Essex Regiment Way, the EALC Microgrant, and Active Chelmsford. In response to high local demand, the garden has expanded to offer 43 individual plots, plus a shared community plot for residents in our neighbourhood. It's inspiring to see how the garden's success has grown, providing numerous benefits to participants, far beyond those who simply enjoy growing their own fresh produce. The project has had a positive impact on both individual wellbeing and the broader community. Ptarmigan is proud to have supported this initiative alongside other contributing organizations and looks forward to continuing our involvement in Channels, Chelmsford. Ptarmigan are pleased to confirm that following a Resolution to Grant in September for a 12 hectare site we’ve been promoting in Hatfield, we have today exchanged on an unconditional sale to Barratt Redrow North Thames. One of the quickest land deals we have worked on. We have been promoting the site in partnership with the landowner since 2017, navigating the complexities of one of the longest Local Plan Examinations in Public (over 6 years). We successfully secured the site’s removal from the Green Belt, and submitted an application in advance of the adoption of the Local Plan so we were first in the queue when it came to determination. This site will deliver 120 high quality homes with 25% affordable housing, a new 2 form entry primary school, with over 40% of the site retained as open space including children’s play areas. Thank you to everyone involved including Lauren Potter, James Weaver, Michael Ward Strutt & Parker, Steve Robins Mosaic Urban Design Ltd, Michael McCullough SLR Consulting and Lucy Morton Town Legal LLP.
