We are delighted to bring you an update on Forden, our local Passive House Turnkey project we are working on! The first house of four is getting closer to completion with only the last bits of internal fittings to take place, external cladding and the roof to finish. Continuing from our last 'meet the team' post, this week we have James! James is one of our Timber Framers and joined us this summer. We asked James a few questions to help you get to know him better! Favourite part of working at PYC? Well I love working with timber. I love the idea that my work is going towards making someone's home. Favourite project and why? Barns at Oake unit 1, I haven't been with the company for long so I haven't done many projects, but I have been enjoying learning the ins and outs of learning what goes into making a house, learning how Warmcel insulation works with the timber frame and how each panels fits together. When you’re not in the office what do you enjoy doing? Two things that I enjoy outside the workshop, I attend church midweek and on Sunday with my wife and 2 year old son, and I enjoy playing boardgames with my wife and friends. It's all go in the workshop this week getting the roof panels complete for the final Passivhaus dwelling for the Barns At Oake project🔨 Once completed the workshop team will be on the home stretch for this project with just the internals to go. Then, onto our last project before Christmas, The Stables!

Yesterday Jasper attended the NSBRC for a panel talk hosted by chris Dawes with Jae Cotterell (Director of Passivhaus Homes, PH15 System), Iga Panczyna (Associate & Chartered Architect RIBA RIAS) and Allan Corfield Architects. The topic was Passivhaus! The episode is going live today at 6:30pm on the NSBRC's Facebook, Youtube and LinkedIn. Make sure to tune in online. Brookhouse is well underway onsite in Lancaster 🏡 The ground floor walls are up as well as floor joists and first floor wall panels leaving only the roof panels to be installed this week. The roof panels are going to be at a steep 40 degree angle creating beautiful large spaces within the home, made even better through the addition of a mezzanine! So, on completion, our clients will be able to see all the way up to the roof from the ground floor in the dining room and stairwell. Finished project pictures🙌 Due to the nature of our work we don't usually get to see the projects we work on completed. So, when we do we like to show you! This is manor barn, a project we installed the timber frame on last year with West Wind Oak, Roderick James Architects and BAARN in the East Midlands. This was an exciting project to do the timber frame for, with installing it around the West Wind Oak green oak frame, which looks fantastic completed. Seeing the homes we have helped build getting lived in is such a rewarding part of the job! Thankyou to BAARN for the pictures
