In today’s environment of talent scarcity and shifting business contexts, it’s tempting to focus on shorter-term workforce planning (0-3 years). While tactical and operational planning is essential, building a strategic workforce plan with a longer-term view (3-5+ years) is the key to aligning workforce needs with your organisation’s overarching goals. This was the focus of a recent roundtable lunch hosted by the Q5 Australia Team with Business Sydney, which highlighted a number of key insights: 👉 SWP is more than just workforce skills, always consider capability, capacity, and cost 👉 It is crucial to address the gaps in your workforce but equally important to reduce surpluses 👉Data is a key enabler and organisations often underestimate how much they collect 👉 SWP will significantly impact the EVP; models ignoring human needs are likely to fail A big thank you to Q5's Sharon Rice-Oxley (FCIPD), Lyndal Hughes, Freddie Stockwell, and Richard Mableson for sharing their insights and expertise!
