🥩QMS has been actively promoting the benefits of red meat through educational initiatives that have reached nearly 3,000 people across Scotland. 🥩 Since August 2024, QMS’s Community Engagement Team has hosted 18 events, including classroom sessions, food and farming days, and rugby development activities, focusing on healthy eating and sustainable food production. Highlights include partnerships with SRUC, MooFest, and rugby clubs like Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby, as well as the success of the Tasty Little Weeks campaign. The team is also training new Scotch Ambassadors to support regional educational efforts in 2025. Celebrating the Positives of Red Meat 2025" toolkit, designed to help people share the benefits of Scotland’s red meat. 💪This easy-to-use resource offers clear, evidence-based facts on the nutritional value of red meat, highlighting its role in supporting children's growth, boosting immune systems, and building muscle. It also covers sustainable farming practices to show how red meat production contributes to a healthy environment. 📖The toolkit includes downloadable resources like infographics, recipes, and digital assets to make it easier to communicate these messages. It’s part of QMS’s ‘When You Know, You Know’ campaign, which aims to bust myths about red meat and encourage positive discussions across the farming and food supply chain. 🚜🌱 A ground breaking environmental baselining pilot is underway, with 170 farms from Scotland, England, and Wales taking part. This initiative, led by AHDB and supported by QMS, will measure the environmental impact of farming across Great Britain. Using LiDAR scanning , specialists will gather crucial data on carbon stocks and water run-off, helping farmers understand their land’s environmental value. 🌍🔬 This project involves a wide range of farms, with a long-term goal of providing accurate insights into carbon sequestration and helping the industry thrive for future generations.
