📣 Industry Update 📣 MCS has published the updated MIS 3005-D The Heat Pump Design Standard guidance. This update includes: 🟢 Definitions of a ‘hybrid heat pump system’ and ‘supplementary heat source’. 🟢 Removal of the requirement for the heat pump to provide at least 100% of the calculated heat load when installing a hybrid system 🟢 The heat pump must now be capable of meeting a minimum of 55% of the calculated heat load at a 55 °C flow temperature under design conditions. 🟢 The requirement that the controls’ philosophy shall be capable of prioritising the heat pump.
