Today, we are announcing that we have achieved the first significant milestone from our strategic collaboration with AstraZeneca: the selection and licensing of a CAR-Treg candidate from our Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) program that AstraZeneca will now further develop into the clinic with Quell’s continued participation including product supply for first-in-human trials. Achieving this milestone triggers an option exercise payment of $10 million to Quell. The nomination of this first T1D CAR-Treg candidate complements the advances we are making with QEL-001, our internal program in transplantation, and demonstrates the potential of our powerful technology to unlock a broad opportunity across autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. #Innovation #Biotech #Collaboration #Milestone #LifeSciences

It was an exciting day at Quell Therapeutics yesterday as our CEO Iain McGill and the team welcomed Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer, to the Translation & Innovation Hub in London where she opened our newly refurbished offices. She was accompanied by Emma Reynolds (Minister for Pensions), Steve Bates OBE FMedSci (CEO of the UK Bioindustry Association, BIA) and Kristen McLeod CBE (CSO of the British Business Bank). After meeting Quell employees and a tour of our state-of-the-art lab facilities, Ms. Reeves was interviewed by the BBC, Financial Times and Bloomberg, where she shared insights on the UK Government’s vision for pension “megafunds” to accelerate growth of the UK economy and particularly investment into innovative sectors that capitalise on the UK’s world-leading research capabilities. At Quell, we share Ms. Reeves’ commitment to unlocking funding and fostering a vibrant UK life sciences ecosystem that supports our ambitions to build Quell into a meaningful and successful UK biopharma business. https://lnkd.in/dNqicSsN? https://lnkd.in/eU66NzfX https://lnkd.in/dZkU5axN #LifeSciences #Innovation #UKBiotech #Investment #MansionHouseReforms #HealthcareInnovation
