For our first #WednesdayWisdom of the year, join Maddie York from Quietroom as she explains: ➡️ how devices, websites and digital language are creating barriers for older people ➡️ why web accessibility is important for business ➡️ how to design content so that older people can participate in a digital society Being able to use and manage your money in digital form is convenient for lots of us – but not all. For many older people, it’s confusing and frightening. They may be enthusiastic about the benefits – online shopping saves a trip out – but they can be thwarted when they try. When businesses do not make their websites and communications accessible for older people, the result is a feeling of not being in control, of being left behind and excluded. For the financial services sector, this feeling can lead to disengagement: “If it’s too hard to move my money around online, I’ll just leave it where it is.” “If I can’t check my balance easily online, I won’t use that account any more.” This means people are not getting the most from their money, potentially missing out on benefits, and having their later life and retirement stymied by needlessly difficult online experiences. Maddie presents the evidence, including from her gran's own experience, and sets out some principles for better content design. Register for your webinar place here: https://lnkd.in/efj_hFCY

"2025 to be a bumper year for pension scheme buyouts" If your scheme is looking at buying in or out this year, talk to us about the communications you'll need to keep members clear, calm and content. Our buyout toolkit contains template letters for every step of the journey, from announcement to wind-up. The price also includes 2 hours of consultancy up front. Each letter is: - written by Quietroom experts - compliant with disclosure requirements - tested with real members All you need to do is enter your plan details into each template, get them signed off internally and send them to members. We can also help you tailor the content for your scheme or create content to accompany the key wind-up comms, such as webpages and campaigns. Here's a sample letter to show you what to expect, along with commentary on what we've done and why. These kind of comms can go badly wrong if you don't plan them properly. So get in touch if you're thinking about buy-ins and buyouts this year!
