About us
RAER [rare] adjective; Exceptional, unparalleled, unique, special, precious. RAER is not a brand, it is a mindset, a mantra for life. Born of our dad’s belief that life itself is precious, and we should take the opportunity to treasure every moment together. Dad is a keen whisky lover, but we were frustrated by the separation within the industry, as regardless of age (as long as over 18) gender, or background, whisky is an important part of our national heritage, and everyone should be able to enjoy it together. This led us to develop a smoother, naturally sweeter spirit, that can be enjoyed your way. This can be enjoyed even by those who would not naturally reach for a whisky, so that we can all share our RAER moments as a community. 🏴 🇫🇷 Il y a 729 ans, en 1295, était scellée l’Auld Alliance, la plus vieille alliance européenne, entre le royaume de France et celui d’Écosse par Philippe le Bel et Jean Baliol. En 2022, une nouvelle alliance franco-écossaise a vu le jour entre le Domaine national de Chambord et l’affineur de whisky écossais, Raer. 🪵 En forêt de Chambord, des chênes sont sélectionnés, coupés et séchés en plein air selon des traditions ancestrales, pendant deux ans. Ils sont ensuite assemblés afin de composer des fûts d’une grande qualité. 🥃 Le whisky et le gin y sont vieillis, au minimum trois ans, garantissant ainsi une saveur subtile et exquise !
