When we started re:connect, we made a promise to ourselves that we will support the fantastic and talented tech community. We did that by organising re:connect conference this year, and we are also doing that by supporting the tech meetup scene. Here are a few glimpses of the fantastic {dev.talk} event organised by Mark Oliver last night. The most important part, is the connections we are all starting to make. We are really excited to see the ways the tech community are coming together and sharing knowledge. #DorsetTech #Developer #DevDotTalk
Hi everyone, I want to introduce my new Bournemouth based meetup: {dev.talk} (pronounced "dev dot talk"). It is a monthly meetup for software engineers and related disciplines of all levels in and around the BCP area. We aim to come together regularly and share knowledge allowing us all to learn and grow in our chosen fields and careers. It will be a relaxed environment where everyone is welcome from all backgrounds and technical levels. We will have a chance to network between the sessions run by community members. All sessions will be recorded and accessible on youtube after the sessions (assuming consent from the speaker) Our goal is to bring a sense of community to the Software Engineers of Dorset, and a chance to truly “geek out” in a safe place. We have a code of conduct that will be strictly adhered to. We want to be welcoming to everyone no matter who they are, what skill level they have or where they come from. We will be aiming for talks (& lightning talks) that are of any level, and any software engineering based skill. This will include deep dives into technical subjects, soft skills, mental health, career progression etc. All levels of speaking/presentation skills will be accepted, and actively encouraged. We want {dev.talk} to feel like friends who support each other.

We LOVE vlogging our tech conference experiences at Equal IT. If you've been following us for a while maybe you already guessed that ;) Last month, we had the pleasure of sponsoring and hosting a workshop at the amazing re:connect conference in Dorset. It was a wonderful day filled with connection and inspiration. With valuable insights into the thriving tech ecosystem in the beautiful Southwest. The day held extra significance for Jonathon Down and me, as we delivered our first in-person workshop together. Experience the day with us and dive into the highlights with our new Equal ITeam vlog. The full video is live on Equal IT's YouTube (link in comments). In the meantime, here's a little snippet for y'all. What conference should we attend and vlog next?

An inspiring day at the re:connect conference in Poole! We were thrilled to have six members of our team attend this fantastic event here in Poole. A special shout-out to our Head of Systems Transformation, Ian Glen, for delivering an insightful and engaging workshop on project estimating, intriguingly titled "Goldilocks and the Jar of M&Ms." It’s great to see tech conferences sparking innovation and collaboration. We can't wait for the next one!
