Not a Bad Day Out in the Office! I just wanted to share my experience for the first time in attending the business expo at Reading B2B Expo yesterday. I’m a bit apprehensive, nervous and completely out of my comfort zone. I try the Face-to-Face Speed Networking session (first time too) is quite fun and the 2mins conversation gone so quick although, you can’t hardly hear yourself talking because the room is loud and buzzing with excitement of people having a fun conversation. A big shoutout to Mr Peter Mols the speaker of “Network Like a Pro” for making me feel welcomed and comfortable 🫡 The presentation is very engaging and warm approach made experience truly enjoyable and very informative plus gave me bonus price possession of a book “The Go-Giver” by Bob Burg and John David Mann. Thank you so much.😊 Meeting and connecting with new people as part of learning curve and turned out to be a fantastic opportunity and experience. All the way to Reading and all I got was this duck! Only kidding – I love the duck, and it was a great day. Even better because I got the stand next to the team from my client claireLOGIC which of course is packed with material that we've helped to create. I talked so much that today my voice has entirely disappeared so I'm having to take the day to recuperate! Great catching up with existing connections like Robert Nienaber on the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce stand, Vanessa Hastings Rob Thorpe Peter Mols and new ones like Robyn Todd and Chris Hall. Some great chats with interesting neighbours like Sanjay Limbachya and Markus Johansson. What an Inspiring Day at the Reading Business Expo! 🌟 I had the pleasure of attending three insightful seminars that offered valuable takeaways- 1️) From Zero to Hero: Making the Most of Free Marketing Tools by Hannah Perryman Hannah's session was packed with practical resources to enhance marketing efforts without breaking the bank. Key takeaways included using tools like Canva for eye-catching designs and SEOptimer.com for free SEO audits to improve website performance. She emphasized the importance of being consistently active on social media and ensuring your business is easily discoverable through platforms like Google My Business, which also helps boost SEO, and “Remarket to your Existing Clients” is very Important. 2️) 6 Strategies to Make You Luckier by Joel Dalton Joel’s talk was a refreshing take on how you can make yourself luckier. He shared six research-backed strategies that go beyond the typical advice, focusing on mindset shifts and proactive habits. His insights emphasize the power of “Thinking Best Case” scenarios as our thoughts shape reality. He also highlighted the importance of “Taking Action” and being proactive by consistently spotting opportunities around us. This resonated deeply with me. It was a reminder that luck often comes down to preparation meeting opportunities. 3️) Network Like a Pro by Peter Mols As someone who’s recently started networking in the UK, Peter’s tips were invaluable. He discussed seven golden rules of networking. Key takeaways - Have a Goal, Perfect your Pitch, 7/11/4 Rule (Attend his next seminar to know more😊 )  Network with confidence, smile, and listen. The importance of follow-ups, and how to build meaningful connections rather than just collecting business cards. I left with actionable ideas and a few book recommendations to dive deeper into the art of networking. Thank you so much to all the speakers.
