🎬 🏦 How is the payments industry fighting human trafficking? Human trafficking generates hundreds of billions in illicit proceeds each year. It’s one of the most profitable predicate crimes – just behind drug trafficking and fraud. And it’s growing. Cases of human trafficking increased 28% in 2024, according to a UNODC report released earlier this month. The urgency to act has never been greater. Change is possible. And it must happen now. To shine a light on this urgent issue, we are proud to present “Caught in the Light” – a groundbreaking documentary exploring how financial institutions are fighting human trafficking. Featuring insights from industry experts, survivors, and advocates, the film highlights the crucial role banks play in detecting and disrupting trafficking operations. Key voices in the documentary include: ⭐️ Megan Lundstrom, Polaris (formerly Polaris Project) ⭐️ Nick Lewis OBE, Standard Chartered ⭐️ Christopher Bagnall, Quantexa ⭐️ Clark Frogley, Quantexa, Former FBI Official ⭐️ Christopher Kemp, Anti-Human Trafficking Intelligence Initiative (@TeamATII) ⭐️ Silvija Krupena, CFCS, CAMS, RedCompass Labs RedFlag Accelerator As Human Trafficking Prevention Month kicks off tomorrow, we hope this film will inspire meaningful conversations and drive action to combat this growing issue. Together, we can shine a light on this critical problem and work toward a solution. What is Applied AI? (And how can we use it in payments?) 🧠🌐 Unlike General AI – which is trained on everything – Applied AI digs deep into specialized knowledge that’s hard to find online. Think: industry reports, regulations and project documentation, as well as internal knowledge from emails, chats and conversations. With Applied AI, this vast knowledge is gathered and used to solve very specific business problems. That makes it a powerful tool to help banks with payments modernization.
